I just bought season 1&#38;2 of Dexter and I think this is much better with gore and sex. Better writing for this series on the whole. I looked at the books True Blood is based on, but the writing was not my cup of tea. It doesn't really have a series title, although I think they've started putting something like "A Sookie Stackhouse novel" on the covers.</p> <p>I think Harris is rereleasing all 8 of her books in one big (compendium? is that the word?) later this fall.</p> <p>The books and the TV series are very different in terms of plot (although the characters' personalities are pretty spot-on).
