Thanks Jcat, I ended up taking little Romeo back to the rspca, and they totally understood that sometimes they just cant intergrate into some households with pets. Pollyanna is much more relaxed now and although her appetite hasnt come back the vet thinks it will now that Romeo has gone...
We are thinking its better to get a female kitten instead of a male cat! I guess its all about trial and error but for now she can enjoy just having me all to herself again!

Hi, Pollyanna, welcome to TDK, is that Pollyanna in your avatar? She is gorgeous!

I'm afraid I can't help with the spaying question, though I would think that two weeks is long enough for her to get back to normal and it shouldn't really have changed her personality any. Could there be something else wrong with her? Unfortunately, we are not vets on this site so all we can really say is talk to your vet if you are worried.

As to your problem with Romeo and Pollyanna, this is a perennial problem. If you click on the pink tags I've added -- top right hand corner, "new kitten' and 'introducing new kitten' you'll find lots of previous threads on this subject with heaps of good advice (Try 'Can Someone Help Me?' and 'Help, we just got a new 5 week old kitten, 8 month old mad" and "How do I get my old kitten and my new one to get along")

I'm sure other TDKers will jump in with some good ideas. Many of them swear by Feliway to help calm the situation down but the key seems to be doing it slowly and letting them get used to each other's smell before they start "living together" all the time.

Anyway, come back to us with any more questions or problems, this is a great site to find help. Good luck with your two, they sound gorgeous!

Meow all,

My Tonkinese x Ragdoll kitten got spayed 2 weeks ago and she seems to have lost her little curious spark... I hope it comes back and its just that shes still recovering. I miss her cheeky little side, although she meows much less which makes things easier because she was soooo vocal! I know its for the best for her, us at home and the over population of kittens but I hope she recovers okay.
Also I have just adopted a neutered stray cat from animal rescue. He is 7mth and has been here for a week and ive had to keep him in the room because the two of them dont get on. He is very confident and dominant... Im not sure if its going to work. The animal shelter allow us to return/ exchange. Poor Romeo! But Pollyanna needs to feel safe in her home and he attacks her etc. But he is very sweet with me and purrs and snuggles... so what to do?
