They were never close, but my bro is still trying to let his family know. As of right now this person is on thr POA over his life and medical care not his finances so they are trying to find out what's what. Also if he is placed into a home or the pull is to be plugged only this other person can do. Part of me hopes he does make the choice to pull the plug since he is pretty much a vegetable. And that is no quaility of life. If he was still aware and focused and knew his visitors and such and could make choices then I would say let him go to the home to hopefully strengthen put the doctors are not hopeful of that! </p> <p>It is very sad, but we are standing beside Eric and hoping for the best for him what ever the final decison is! Before this incident Eric was still planning to go back home even if he had to spend time in the home to get strong enough. After the last one though and with the damage to his brain there is no hope of that now. I agree and from what my brother has said Eric did say when he no longer had the quality of life and was aware of it he would rather jsut pass on. I can only offer this now, as a former hospice nurse. Life should be about quality, not quantity. And at this point, Eric does not have any quality of life.
