just wanted to say thank you guys for your replys . ya i know about that my male cat has an appointment for 0ct. already ,that was the first thing i did when she had her baby.im just glad she got the chance to have at least one baby so once the male cat is all set with his operation the mother cat will have hers once the baby is at least weaned off from mother. then i can rest and enjoy all 3 of them. they are so cute the whole family together . :)

Hi Feeefee, and welcome from another newbie!

The advice is spot-on.....let Mama take care of her baby. They know instinctively what to do, and honestly, if the baby has had a bm, you might not have even known, since Mama stimulates baby's bottom and then cleans up afterward.

Good luck with your babies and congrats to the new addition to your family!

Hi, Feefee, welcome to TDK. If mama cat is there and seems to be coping fine, I wouldn't worry about the kitten, she knows what to do and will stimulate him and keep the little lad and her nest tidy. Kittens don't have to poop every day and he's only drinking milk right now, remember. To be honest, I would try not to interfere with mama and baby too much, let her mother her baby and just watch, unless you really feel she's not coping.

If you're really worried, click on the pink tags I've added ('poop' and 'constipation', top right hand corner) and you'll see that this is a very common question. You'll find loads of good advice. Good luck!

(Also, you know that if your cat is not spayed, she can get pregnant again as soon as this baby is weaned, and probably will, with up to six kittens, don't you?)
