The lamb I get is ground however but I mix it into some chicken thigh/breast with bones.</p> <p>Mine literally will eat a whole chicken thigh and those are the biggest bones I let mine get. I'm gathering my nerve to give them chicken wings and maybe ribs, as I tried them this morning and they were both completely savage about the bones, and clearly loved the chewing and gnawing. Do I just let them at a wing bone? Or do you grind them at all? Do they literally work their way through the whole bone in time? If they won't touch it, something is wrong with it. It was frozen in the butcher's when I got it, but I just noticed the use-by date was August '08. It's been in the deep-freeze since then,but it did smell a bit strong when I broke the vacuum seal after defrosting it in the fridge overnight. Sumi gobbled it up frantically as usual, but I'm wondering if it's ok. I looked up freezing poultry on the net, and there are many different feelings about how long is safe. The majority seem to be saying that vacuum is better, but that small poultry parts like breast, legs, don't last as long as the full bird in the freezer. Any opinions? </p>
