Lets just hope and pray that all Wilma's symptoms subside into one of those dim and distant memories of 'oh yes, Wilma went through a mystery illness way back when she was about four years old.....we never found out what caused it, but she recovered and went from strength to strength!"

Would Wilma hunt mice? Are there ever any in your basement MC? Just wondering again about toxins, pathogens, bacteria - would it be possible she even found a dead mouse or bird in the basement? You should ask your vet to examine every possibility. I just read on another site about a little kitty who ate some contaminated minced rabbit, and they treated him for cancer, which was the wrong treatment of course, as he had toxoplasmosis : (

Amy...I'm leaning towards the other's suggestions. The fact that Wilma likes to chew on odd things leads me to wonder whether she snacked on something else she shouldn't have? The fever w/nothing else makes me think...mold. The smallest amounts can wreak alot of havoc on such a tiny furball's system.
The news that she's showing spunk w/no fever is nothing short of a wonderful miracle.
Hopper & Hissy send purrs & asked me to tell Wilma to keep up the fight...something about the extra Love & Scritches when she does, will be worth it. After that...they talked some other language...meow,meow,meow,meow

I wonder is it an allergy, like MM suggests, because all signs seem to be pointing to a toxin of some sort, yet they would have detected that in her bloodwork.. Ask them have they checked for toxiplasmosis, just to be sure.

Spoke with the vet and she said Wilma is sure being Miss Spunky Pants today! YAY! Looks like the mega dose of fluids and antibiotics may have helped. She got more fluids this morning, more antibiotics and an appetite stimulant. She also has no fever today! Hip hip hooray! Then they said she took her popsicle toy (from Melvin) and hid under her blankie again! She was NOT interested in eating. If she continues to be so spunky they may let her come home today so that she feels more relaxed at home and will eat. Prayers are working! Keep them coming!

Amy, the vets may have already asked you this, but is there anything new in the house that could be causing some sort of reaction in Wilma? New furniture, drapes, rugs--new toys that may have some sort of filling in it thats different? New treats or maybe different food?
I sure hope they find out soon what is wrong with Wilma. She needs to get better so she can come home to you and Betty. Hugs and prayers to you and the kits.
