I am currently reading "The Motorcycle Diaries" by "Che" Ernesto Guevara. Che and his friend travelled from Argentina throughout South America in the early 1950s - long before he met Fidel Castro. I am just about finished and a co-worker is lending her "Twilight" series to me. Yep, I'm jumping on the vampire bandwagon - just as I hopped on the Harry Potter one last summer. Time to see what all the hubub is about...bub!

Janet Evanovich is just plain funny!! I have never read anything by her and then went to a conference. Every teacher I was with had to go to a bookstore on the day Sizzling 16 came out. I highly recommend that!!

Try the Janet Evanovich "Plum" Series. Airy gave it to her Nana for Christmas as she can't read because of eye problems and she is having a great time listening to them. KK,Airy and I also highly recommend these stories, we have all the books. We even have books signed by the author!

What kind of thing do you like, Samye? If you're fond of Harry Potter, you might like Diana Wynne Jones -- she was writing about wizards/witches/ghosts/sci fi fantasy long before JK Rowling and I think she's more interesting. The Terry Pratchett witch series (The Wee Free Men, A Hatful of Sky and Wintersmith) are brilliant -- about a resourceful teenager learning to be a witch -- very funny and very practical. Philip Pullman's Northern Lights( The Magic Compass in the US), the Subtle Knife and the Amber Spyglass are brilliant -- don't judge them by the movie which apparently wasn't wonderful but the books are. Margaret Mahy's The Changeover or The Tricksters (about modern-day witches and ghosts) are both brilliant, as are all her works.

And if you want a lovely first romance, I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith is charming, old fashioned and very quirky in a very English way.

These are all crossover children/adult books so nothing to frighten the horses, tee hee.

My boyfriend and I have been listening to the Harry Potter series on audio book and we're just about done with the second to last book!! I'm absoloutly in LOVE with "reading" like this late at night and it gives us something to talk about too! I just don't know what to read next!! I want a series...but I don't want to commit to something I'm not, or that he wont, like very much. We both read the Harry Potter series in HS and loved it so that was an easy chioce, and we've been watching the movies the day after we finish to compare. It's so much fun!!

tl;dr: I need help picking a new book and/or series to listen to at night before bed.
