Hi, MC, how are you this evening?

Four! Oh, Deb, get the kingsize. Yes, they will spread out more but I feel cramped with me and Jas and the queen size. Mind you, I am all over the bed, I wake up in the morning with everything in a complete mess. The other morning I woke up with a sheet that had had a small hole in it when I went to bed, it now had a huge hole which I had somehow got my head through and then wrapped the sheet all around my neck. I guess I am lucky I didn't end up strangulated, tee hee.

It IS amazing the way -- on beds -- cats expand to fill the space available whereas in boxes and tight corners, they squish to fit into (and slightly overflow) the smallest possible spaces.... they must be magic...

Bed arrives tomorrow morning, last night in the old one and then when I wake I'll strip it and drag the mattress into the hallway. I won't attempt the stairs, the moving guy can do that bit.
Still on the hunt for the perfect bridesmaid dress, Meegz wants to get all 3 girls together so they can say what does and what doesn't suit them. She thinks she has found a dress, at the emailing stage and checking out material samples and colours. The happy couple have had a lovely wet week, 'A' can't work in the wet so has been at home with the cats for a week and whipping up lovely meals for Meegz when she gets home from work.

jcat, I agree the medical community should have figured out something by now, oh well. Max is sleeping pretty well right now, probably the remanents of the anesthesia and they gave him the antibiotic shot so I don't have to give him the pills or liquid (thank goodness).

MS, did you get all the beds in and out like you had planned? And the hunt is still on for the 'perfect' bridesmaids dresses and has Meegz decided on the wedding dress or design yet?

I have a bunch of bed hogs, usually at least 4 of them on the queen bed with me...should get a king but that would only encourage them to spread out more, lol!

Evening/morning Deb,Jcat & MC. Had a busy day and didn't get on here much.
Deb, I'm pleased to hear that Max is getting his land legs back.
MC, you look after yourself and I hope FF will pop in and spoil you when he can.
Jcat, it is lovely when a cat snuggles into bed with you . . .but not on a hot summers night or when they turn out to be bed hogs.

Oh, I love it when cats get under the covers. My Nuffy used to do that, and my Max. I am lucky if Libs perches on the bed by my head and Jasper only ever clambers onto the top of the bed. I think, being ex-ferals, they worry they might get trapped for ever if they burrowed underneath, tee hee (and to tell the truth if Jasper did that, there'd be not much room for me...)

Deb, I'm so glad that your Max did well in and out of his surgery, poor little boy, he will be sore for a while. A baseball seems huge when you think how small a cat is, it must be making him feel better to have that horrible thing out of him. He needs some pampering and so do you, Deb, I'm so sorry that you've still got that horrible headache. You would think, with all our medical advances, they could do more for something so painful that so many people suffer for such extended periods. {{{Deb and Max}}}

Max is doing as expected out of surgery, he is still wobbly when walking but can almost walk a straight line without faltering. They took out a tumor the size of a baseball and said it looked very angry but didn't bleed as much as they thought it would. The cut is pretty long and has multiple staples holding it together. He is in kidney failure which because of his age is to be expected, he is going to be 16 this month.

Up for probably only a few minutes, need to actually try and get some rest I suppose and maybe get something accomplished today....like unpacking more of the boxes out of the garage.

They had great fun today, MC, it was another lovely spring day and so when I got a lot of work done, this afternoon, I went outside to work on my garden path. Libby was rolling around all over it and so was Jasper. I wished I'd taken the camera out, she just looked exactly like she was saying, "I'm so cute, take my photo, look, I'm posing!" They are very glad to see the sunshine back, like me. They both came back inside covered in builder's sand and Jasper has left grimy pawprints all over my lovely new printer/scanner. But I still love him...

How are Wilma and Betty getting along today? Bet poor Miss Wilma's still feeling the cold. And hope you're feeling a bit better from that horrible stomach flu!

Hi, MC, I'm just popping in before I do a bit of night editing... Sorry to find you not being able to sleep. That was a funny comment of FF, I remember thinking that when you first posted it. To be honest, I think he is being a little out of line. It is up to you how you dress. If he loves to see you in girly clothes, perhaps he could buy you a pretty scarf or piece of jewellery or something for a birthday present...

As for the shop, I think I would have just told him the truth -- that it was a petite sizes shop and you are too tall; at 5 foot 8 they wouldn't have anything to fit you. Being tall is a good thing, I think! (well, I'm five nine-ish so I would...)

But bear in mind, I am the LAST person who should give anybody relationship advice, lol...

Peeks into the NS office to find kittehs stretched out on all the furniture snoring. Decides to blow out candles for the kittehs safety. Walk over to a big overstuffed chair and plop down with a blanket. Maybe some other insomniacs will come in soon. I can't sleep cause FF made a remark that has had me puzzled and it was so appropriate that he got a call right in the middle of our discussion about the comment. Let me give you background info.

Saturday we went out to eat to a small restaurant in Chicago. As we were walking to it we went past some high end boutiques. We passed one and he saw a dress that really caught his eye. It was ok, a little too pricey for me. I don't have anywhere to wear a dress like that. He asked if we could go in and I try it on. I said "No, its really too pricey". He continued with "Its not about the price, I think that is a great dress and you would look really good in it". Needless to say I didn't want to go in for several reasons. 1. It was way too pricey, 2. I don't go to places that are that "formal" 3. It was a very summery dress and summer's almost GONE and finally 4. The store was for petites sized 0-8 (SO NOT ME!!). I am flattered he thought I could get into a petite sized 8 but it ain't gonna happen in any life time. I am 5'8" and more than an 8. It was an akward moment for me and I didn't know how to squirm out of it. Well today he tells me that I hurt his feelings and he was only trying to do something nice for me. He then goes on to say it might not hurt me to be a little "more feminine" (dresses, heels, the whole 9 yards). What? Where did that comment come from? It was a tad emarrassing for me to be put on the spot like that when I knew the saleslady's would have laughed me out of the store knowing I am no size 8. I used to be much bigger so the size I am at now is so much better but it still makes me uncomfortable when times like that come up. I realize he has no concept of women's sizes but it still bother's me. Oh well, Betty is snuggling on my lap, maybe I will doze off. Thanks for letting me vent.

.... WWM!.... it's sad sometimes to see the level of "de-involvment" of parents of our seniors today!..... the ones on the ball are aware of all the deadlines, etc..... many of those that aren't, don't even know that they can take the SAT, ACT numerous times to achieve a better score!......both of my college children took the tests 3 times, and both increased their scores by over 100 points!..... both of which gave them the ability go qualify for higher honors programs/scholarships!....... things have changed SO much in the past 30+ years, it's almost unbelievable!

Hey y'all,

Kitties are sprawled in all directions here. CW's little rescue kitten even let me cuddle her today! She's a champion purrer, too.

Hydrox!.. I remember those (I couldn't eat them) but my siblings and parents loved them!...... for some odd reason, I simply do not have a taste/craving for anything with a sweet taste!.... I was the child at the birthday parties that "didn't like cake and ice cream"!.... however, put me by a bowl of pretzels.... and LOOK OUT!.... if, and it's a big IF, I seem to want something even remotely sweet, it's a bite, and I mean a small one, of pure dark chocolate..... about two bites a year (one in October, and one random) is plenty for me!
