I love the picture of Sophie! I can just imagine her saying, "This? This is what you want to feed me? Well, I will just sit here until you come up with something better..."

If you feed her the wet food only at night she will get used to the schedule.

My cats are like little alarm clocks. They know they get the "sloppy food" in the evening; when I am home all day they don't beg at all until 4 PM. At 4 PM they both sit very near me looking very alert. At 4:30 PM they start "yawning" - opening and closing their mouths, and cocking their heads to the side to look at me. At 5 PM they both start "asking" for food. Meow. Meow. Meow. Meow. MEEEEOOOOOW. MEEEEEOOOOW. At about 5:15 PM I give in. They only get a quarter of a can of sloppy food each, but they do love it. I find it amusing to watch their antics.

If you decide to keep Sophie only on the dry food, her pooping may be a little less frequent. Or less in size. This is OK. Her body will adapt. In fact, one of the dry foods advertised this as a benefit. :-)

I have two bowles of water out for her around the apartment and I change it daily...and I see her drinking! So hopefully she goes soon!

Yes I totally want to do that..but because she is so picky about her food, I want to make sure she get used to having dry around most of the time and understands that wet food is a treat. I will likely do some wet at night and set dry food out throughout the day. But until she will eat hte dry on her own and isn't meowing for wet every moment...I don't think i should feed her wet?

THoughts?

Any change in food, even for an adult cat, can upset her digestive system. With a change from wet to dry, she isn't getting as much liquid as she's used to and that can definitely cause some constipation. Make sure she has lots of water.

Maybe you could give her both wet and dry food. If you have someone coming in once a day to feed her, they could give her some canned food each day. Our crew gets wet and dry in the morning, and only dry in the evening.

Hi..Sophie is an adult cat, I just changed her from a good wet diet to dry high quality protien, no animal byproduct no grain.

It doesn't look like she has pooed in a day or two. Just wondering if that is normal for her body to adjust to the change?

I know there is some debate about wet and dry, but the long of the short is I travel a bit and I have friends cat sit and just can't get people to come by twice a day to feed her wet, so I had to get her onto dry and give her wet ocassionally.

Thanks.
