Glad your little guy was able to poop. What a relief for him (and you)! :)

Keep reading the other threads about how to relieve constipation in kittens. I recall others here watering down the KMR a bit, but I don't know how much.

Keep up the great work and thanks for the pictures. He is a little sweet heart!!!

My little guy pooped again this morning. He got two hard ones out. I know it's gross, but I felt the poo to see how hard it was and it's REALLY hard, his stomache is still bloated. Do you think I should dilute the KMR?
Right now I use two tablespoons of water and 1 tablespoon of powder, maybe I should use 3 tablespoons of water? Is that too diluted?

Any advice is appreciated.

I want to share pictures and a couple videos of my little man. They are here:
http://getsillay.blogspot.com

You will see in the videos we were having problems with bottle feeding and dropper feeding. We're good now. He loves the bottle, it just took some time.

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THAT LINK Kitten Whisperer!! The triangle method worked! I'm so happy!! I'm still a little worried about his over size belly, but that should go down, right?

I've never been so happy to see poop.

Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufFWLmpIu08

Try not to worry. Kittens don't poop every day, especially if all they are eating is KMR. As long as he is eating, playing, sleeping and peeing. He should be fine going without pooping for a day or two. If he seems lethargic or stops drinking, call the vet for advice. Dehydrated kittens can go downhill quickly.

One of the threads here has a link to a video showing a vet demonstrating how to stimulate a kitten to eliminate waste. Mother cats do this for their kittens. I'll see if I can find that link.

Thank you kitten whisperer.
I will keep checking back for replies.

I posted this on yahoo Q&A and someone told me to give him one drop of mineral oil, someone else said Olive Oil. I don't have either, I only have vegetable oil but I'm thinking I shouldn't give him anything until I talk to the vet.

Gonna go try to get him to poo again.

I'm so worried about my little guy. :(

I rescued a kitten that was abandoned by it's mother. I got the kitten on Monday morning and have been feeding it KMR. He had 2 BMs on Tuesday and hasn't had one since.
Last night I noticed his belly was very big and I was afraid I had overfed him, but he was not lethargic so I think it's because of the lack of BM.
This morning I stimulated him to go potty and some feces started to come out and then it sucked back in and I haven't been able to get him to do it again.
I took him to the vet this morning and he gave some de-worming medicine and some laxative. (It smells like maple syrup) I asked when it would work and he said he didn't know. I asked if it would work today and he said it's supposed to. I asked if I should keep feeding him KMR or wait until he has a BM and the vet said to keep feeding him. I'm getting scared. He hasn't had a BM since given the laxative 9 hours ago and I've fed him twice and his belly is still big. Gave him lax again an hour ago. He's purring and acting fine.

Also, how long should i be stimulating his anal area? I've done it for up to 2 minutes but i think it stresses him out. He squirms a lot.

Am I over reacting?
How long should it take the lax to work?
He is peeing a lot. there has never been a problem in that department.
