Also, as their hearing starts to go they meow loudly all the time. My old girl Scarlett used to go into the bathroom to meow so that she could hear herself with the echo! Fun in the middle of the night!

brandilee, is she older? My Max who is 13 will meow during the night, he is disoriented and doesn't know where he is..so I put in nightlights along the hallways and it seems to have helped him

Hmmmm don't need a translator, mine are worried about me going to work to make money, so that I buy them food, treats, and toys! Someone in the house as to work, believe me on my days off, I get two or more touching me at the time I normally get up to see if I am going to go to work, lol

LOL! I could certainly use a translator of meows! There are times when I do know exactly what Tikka is saying ("I want food - NOW" is a favourite!). But the other times, I'd really love to know. A lot of times first thing in the morning after she's had her breakfast, she gets really chatty and goes around meowing like crazy. Is she saying "Thanks for that, that was really good and I feel good now"? Or perhaps "Oooh - I ate that too fast and now my tummy hurts."? Or is she saying "That was rubbish - can't you find some nice fresh prawns for a change?"? (Then again, that last would probably be accompanied by the attempt to "bury" the offending food!)

But I think PollysMum is right - even if we add something to translate human to kitty, they would still ignore us!

It's a fake! >:(
Bowlingual costs over 50 % more than Meowlingual and EVERYBODY knows cats have a much larger vocabulary and a wider range of emotions (+ more intellect of course).

Let's face it, even if we had a translator that put human into cat speech, they would still ignore us whenever it suits them. We are here to serve not to tell them what to do. Thousands of years ago, in Egypt, cats were worshipped as gods. Cats have never forgotten this.

The other way round would be better! Something that would translate my *NO Eric, Button doesn't LIKE being chased* or *please don't spit the tablet out AGAIN, it's to help make you BETTER* into miaows would be very useful indeed!

The names Polly calls me when I won't get up and play with her at 4.00 a.m. I CERTAINLY don't want to know precisely what she's saying. And anyway, as a linguist, I would probably spent too much time shouting at it. The so called translators you get for human languages are atrocious, I dread to think how bad a cat translator would be.
