Yeah, all feet on the ground and I keep the bottle tilted so his lung don't fill with liquid.

He's seemed to stop the noise for now but im afraid when I go to feed him he'll start back up.

If there's any other things I should know about newborns id love to hear them.

um yes,he will most likely need to see a vet for some antibiotics. When you feed him is he laying with his stomach to the floor not on his back right? Just checking. You have been doing so well for this baby.

I've been doing the water bottle thing and he seems to like it.
But just one more question. About 30-40 minutes ago he started making this weird sound. Sort of likea sneeze and a cough put together. Is this something to be worried about?

Hi DT,if the potty is a deep yellow hue then he is not getting enough fluid. Can you purchase something called Pedialyte(unflavored) and add it to his KMR feedings. Keep it in his feedings and give the feedings as often as possible because there should be no color to the pee. Also he can't regulate his temperature at all so when you put him down please put him by a hot water bottle(with a towel around it or get a heat pad but make sure there is a place that he can get off the head pad when he is warm.
Sorry if I repeated anyone's info, everyone is quite knowledgable here.
Thank you so much for helping out this baby. Please tell us how you do,somebody is up almost all the time. :)

As long as there is no discharge you won't have to do anything. If, after they are fully open, they have a yellow crust you need to get him to the vet for meds. Sounds like he/she was lucky you came along--Bless you and hope the baby grows into a healthy cat. A pox on the person who dumped him!

Hi, DT, welcome to TDK and thank you for rescuing this tiny baby, you are a star. I'll give you a few websites on hand-rearing kittens, which are great. The first site, recommended by a fellow TDKer and experienced foster mum says:
"Kitten faeces normally has the consistency of toothpaste and be yellow-brown in colour. Loose, yellow diarrhoea is a sign of over-feeding or feeding a too rich milk mixture." So if yellow brown and toothpaste-y sounds like your baby's faeces, then you're probably all right. If it really is a deep orange colour though, I think I'd ring your vet and just check whether that sounds okay.

The second website also has a section called The Poop on Scoop but remember that your baby is just on formula at the moment, so his faeces won't be the same as those of a weaned kitten. Okay, here are the websites:
www.messybeast.com/handrear.htm
http://www.kittenrescue.org/pages.php?pageid=15
http://www.fanciers.com/cat-faqs/orphans.shtml
http://www.feralcat.com/raising.html

There are a lot of experienced kitty foster mums on TDK and I'm sure they'll jump in so keep on checking back. Good luck with wee Tokyo and we would love to see pix!

About 3 days ago around 6am I was sitting outside waiting for my bus and a woman walked a few feet passed me with a box, she sets it on the ground and then walk away. Being the curious person that I am, I had to look. Inside was a single kitten no more than a week old. So without hesitation I scooped him and the blanket he had up and took him with me. I went out and bought some KMR and was able to feed him once that day but he hadn't pottied the whole time. After the second day of nothing, I took him into the vet where they gave me some constipation meds which fortunately I only had to use once. I feed him about every 2-hours or so and he's been going potty maybe twice a day. The problem is, that it isn't solid and its sort of a deep orange color. I don't know if its because how young he is, or the formula but im worried and a little piece of mind would be great. I plan on doing everything I can to assure he stays alive so any advice on what to do for baby Tokyo would be great.

Thanks!
