Yes, changes in diet often lead to changes in poop consistency. I'm from SA, we have very different brands of food than what you guys have available. I've always fed my babies royal canin, and they've always been pleased as pie to eat it, with no poop problems to show. Have you dewormed your kitty? Sometimes worms can also have a lot to do with poop issues.

Help :(

I recently tried to slowly integrate Innova Evo into my 8 week kitten's food with Science Diet (I know, it's not the best brand to be feeding the cat). And last night at 3am he had soft stools borderline diarrhea (makes farting noises as he poops) and this morning as well.

I called a vet clinic, they said that the food change could have influenced his diet and if he still has soft stools, I should bring him to the vet.

My question is, can food influence the stool consistency of my kitten?

He's been on Science Diet for only 4 days and seemed fine, but I want to give him the Innova Evo. He eats the dry cat food w/ a bit of water to mush it up.

Any insight?

Thanks!
