And I liked them because I have narrow sloping shoulders (in fact one shoulder is much higher than the other one, I'm totally lopsided). But I did have one beautiful designer cable-knitted long jacket cardigan that, I was told, made me look like a linebacker. (They were the small furry animal-type shoulder pads.)

I've removed some whoppers from jackets and replaced them with almost flat ones. The jacket still required shoulder pads to make it sit properly. I wasn't going to toss out a good jacket, it's a timeless style other than the shoulder pads.

Ohhhh, yes. Supposedly with a subtle 2009 twist though (snigger)... Some of my shoulderpads back in the day were the size of small furry animals...

Anyone remember when shoulder pads were in fashion and how you always seemed to be missing a pad somewhere. I think they turned into coat hangers back then too.

CBM - socks are the larval form of wire coat hangers. When socks go missing in the wash.....that's what happens to them. (Concept was originally Erma Bombeck's).

When I first bought a worm farm (!), as a single girl, I was worried that I wouldn't have enough garbage (paper, cardboard, food scraps, garden waste) to feed my worms. Now I have three worm farms, three compost bins (one of them is huge) and I am STILL overflowing with paper and scraps. Go figure...

Garbage is like wire hangers - it multiplies when you aren't looking. Same for clutter, bills and cat hair.
