I once saw something really cute at a supermarket - Someone took the 'foot' end of a stocking, put some grass seeds in the bottom, some polystyrene pellets on top of that, knotted the stoking, cut off the excess, and then turned it around and stuck two eyes and a mouth on the front of the stocking. A grass-head, in other words, which you water every day, and then the grass grows through the top of the stocking. If you do something similar, your kitty can have fun without making a mess :)

Cat grass is usually wheat grass with some others mixed in. Try putting it in a plastic food bowl with a lid---cut a hole in the middle of the lid for the grass to poke out of, but will keep the cat from pulling it out.

I buy organic wheat grass at Fred Meyer. It is in the produce department, cost about $1.29. I usually have to replace it every few weeks because the cats chew it down to the roots! Only 3 of the 5 will eat it, the other two ignore it completely. Silly cats

Yes, Little is quite the stinker! The other day I went and got a squirt bottle for discipline and the first night he put 3 teeth holes right in the bottom and it slowly leaked out all over my carpet next to my bed all night!! I woke up the next morning and stepped right in a big sopping puddle of carpet!!

Krazikat, we think alike. Tararose, is it wheat grass or cat grass. I'd love to know so I can try growing some for Shadz. She loves to graze on grass outside.

Oh my, Little has become a big strong boy! Can you put a mesh of some type over the pot that has the grass seed and have it grow through the mesh, then maybe put it into another pot? Kind of a pot within a pot to keep the mesh on? Someone here will probably have a better solution Tara but good luck. I know it's not funny but I do love hearing all about Little's adventures. He is a silly guy sometimes!

A few of my cats really like munching on wheat grass. I try to always keep a fresh one on the coffee table for them since they are always indoors. Well recently Little has figured out that if he pulls it out of the pot he can carry to around and tear it apart and shake dirt all over and roll in it and that is so not ok with me. I can't figure out a way to solve this so i can put the cat grass back out for the rest of the kikis and I am hoping someone here has a suggestion! Help!
