(Roundabout way of saying I think it's probably better to have one.)</p> <p>Try to get her to eat too, if you can. A little rice can help an upset tummy and warmed pure chicken sounds good (hence the babyfood suggestion). I have not heard of using Pepto -- I live in New Zealand and we don't have it here. I think I would stick with the chicken and rice, or the food the vet gave you for now, and ask him about other foods tomorrow. I have a feeling that you will be checking her during the night so I wouldn't worry about the water bottle going cold as you can refill it then. We will stop the use of the puppy milk now, and replace it with pedialyte till morning when we can reach our vet. Either vomiting or diarrhoea can be dangerous in young kittens because they can dehydrate and go downhill very quickly. If she seems limp and or unresponsive, get her to the vet ASAP. (If she accidentally aspirates or chokes on the pedialyte, gently hold her upside down until she stops.)</p> <p>You could try a little Nutrical (a high-calory paste) or Karo corn syrup smeared along her gums/mouth -- not a blob, nothing she could choke on, it may give her a little more energy. I have no idea why the breeder told you to give her puppy replacement milk, Soxs Mom is right, she would need kitten replacement milk and solid foods (mixing them together to a sloppy consistency might make the solid food more attractive to her). If she doesn't want to eat, you could also try her on (Gerber) baby food, pure chicken, no additives or onion or anything.</p> <p>Warm her food slightly, it makes it more appetising. Stinky foods, like fish, can also be more appetising to a sick kitty. </p> <p>Are you keeping her warm? Very young kittens and sick kittens have trouble regulating their own body temp so they need a constant source of warmth, either your body heat, a heat pad, or a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel, with enough room to crawl off if they get too hot.</p> <p>The usual test for hydration is the 'tent' test -- pick up a fold of kitten's skin and let go. If it snaps back, kitten is hydrated okay. They have different ingredients. I would immediately call your vet. Your vet knows what was prescribed and should be able to assist. Did the doctor find any problems at the visit? All was going well until four hours ago and she now has diarrhea. What to do she seems week but not showing signs of dehydration...yet please advise on what to watch for and what to do?? Should we give her Pedialyte? </p>
