<description>&#60;p&#62;Consider yourself lucky to have a kitty who kneads.  I really miss having cats who do that.  Cloud (my avatar) used to do that, and so did Salem, but they are gone to heaven now.  Neither Jasmine nor Kensho knead.  I find it a very affectionate thing for cats to do. And it's true: age has nothing to do with it.  Cloud &#38;amp; Salem kneaded throughout their entire 12 years of life.

<description>&#60;p&#62;Age really doesn't have much to do with it.  We have cats that are 7 and 8 years old who still knead.  It's sort of like twirling your hair or rubbing your fingers together - it makes them comfortable and happy when they knead.

<description>&#60;p&#62;It is very common. I call it &#34;making the bed&#34;. Some call it &#34;making biscuits&#34;. Kittens do this when they nurse to stimulate milk flow, so I think it comforts them.
