How he presents himself, however, will have the biggest effect on how people see him. Barack Obama cannot play the race card or the victim card because neither card is in his deck. Unfortunately, some people's parents put cards in their children's decks that have no business being there, force their children to play the poison cards, and then wonder why their children are in jail or dead. Barack Obama is not the descendent of former African American slaves. Do you think that makes a difference in both how other African Americans view him, as well as people of other ethnic backgrounds? I also wonder if that makes a difference in his refusal to play the victim card. In fact, has that ever even been addressed? If, as others have suggested, he is taking on Dr. King's mantle, he comes to the pulpit from a completely different perspective than MLK. Curious as to your thoughts.
