Nah she'll be fine. Just put her in a bedroom and "kitten-proof" it. (put away all loose objects you don't want her to play with, anchor down book shelves, tie up curtains, and tape down or at least unplug electric cords). Leave a few toys she can play with by herself, such as rolled up pieces of paper or a a small ball or a spring toy and she'll be set. NO STRING!!!!! (or yarn or ribbon). Most likely she'll go to sleep. Leave fresh water, food, and a clean, accessible litter-box. Also, if it's very hot outside, I like to leave the air conditioning on low, so they don't overheat, but cats do have a higher body temperature so I'm not sure if that's necessary.

I have to leave my kitten alone when I go out for errands or volunteer. She does fine as long as I play with her and let her out when I get home. I keep her in the bathroom with food, water, and etc. I put away anything that she will get into and also put some double stick tape on the floor where I don't want her to walk.

Well, we got Catkin at 10wks and we both work...so he was left home all day. Partly because we have other cats, we kept him in the bedroom while we were gone.

If you can tire him out before you leave, with a wand/fishing-pole toy or a laser pointer, he will take a nap. I would leave him in a kitten-proofed room like the bedroom to help keep him out of trouble, with some toys to keep him busy and an unwashed shirt (your scent will help reassure him.)

Our 11-week-old black & white kitten, Seve (pronounced Sevvy!) is settling in really well. He's been with us for 3 weeks. He's lively, playful and very sociable. So far, the longest he's been left alone is about 3 hours.

This weekend we might have to leave him alone for up to 6 hours and I'm worried he'll get scared, lonely or get into trouble if left alone for so long (he's into everything - exploring, jumping, attacking everything around the apartment).

Will he be OK or should we make other arrangements to avoid leaving him for so long at this stage?
