I have been to see Dad minimum 5 days a week since then, either at the hospital or the care center. He called me this morning. HE IS GOING HOME ON MONDAY !!! It has been a long 8 weeks... he is depressed and grumpy and has lost a great deal of weight. He's 5'11" and now weighs 138 pounds. Dad is going to the care center later this afternoon. Doc originally thought 2-3 weeks, and now he is saying at most 2 weeks. Yea ! It's anticipated the wound in his belly will be healed within a week, and the drainage tubes out next Monday. He was so chatty last night -- very out of character; well usually Mom is there and NO ONE can get a word in. LOL Looks like possibly Monday he'll move the SNF (skilled nursing facility) AND, the one that was first on our list. He's a tough old bird... and I'm really glad he'll be around for a few more years. He's already talking about the challenge when he starts golfing again, and how he'll have to start slow.
