I looked up Rocket....here's what I found..

Rocket, Italian Cress, Roquette Rucola are some of the many other names for Salad Rocket. The thickish green leaves, which have a peppery taste, are mainly used in salads but may also be cooked like spinach and, in France, are cooked with peas. Flowers may be used to decorate salads.

I had seen this listed in Fraser Lewry's recipe ingredients for his Octopus and Ostrich dish that looked so yummy...see for yourselves...Mmmmm!

http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/food/authors/fraser_lewry/index.html

Hi MCW...yes it is very disturbing. I should know better than to watch these things. Before the race I asked myself..what if...what if one of these beautiful creatures is injured. I'm wondering at this point if it was perhaps rider error in the manner of stopping the horse after such an incredibly intense finish. I really know nothing about horses.

I really surprised myself with the intensity of emotion as she moved up the ranks and took 2nd position. I'm a basket case at the moment...I thought maybe she had a heart attack at first because there were no collisions or stumbles that I could see. Poor Eight Bells

We just watched the Kentucky Derby race and a horse collapsed. It was named Eight Belles and she broke both front ankles, it was after she crossed the finish line, she was second. They had to euthanize her immediately. It is soooo sad.

OMG...The filly, eight bells came in second but just over the finish line she went down with two broken front ankles. They had to euthanize her on the spot. I'm bawling like a baby. I cheered for her from the beginning. She would have been the first filly to win the Derby in 20 yrs. Why do I watch these things?????? Big Brown, my second favorite took 1st place.

No, WWM, the ladies here got to the gym, too - only most of them don't go that early and when they do, they come in in full make-up and as nicely dressed-up as you can be while still being able to actually work out! And I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but that is really the way it is in this part of town.
The gym is pretty big, so even if there should be a bunch of people, it should still be okay. I don't want to work out when there's barely anone around and people may notice me! ;) I plan to do a bunch of the functional fitness I've been working on with %$^$#% trainer guy, which is a lot of medicine and stability ball work, cones etc. I think most people there will probably be using the machiines - at least I hope so.

We'll see. I have tennis tomorrow morning, and then I'll go to the gym a bit later. I also have to go find some allergy medicine, since I'm absolutely miserable today, and som e hair color and hopefully fit that in tomorrow, so I can stop scaring people! ;)

Karenopa, I'm more than a little frightened to ask what "rocket leaves" are...

GD, now you must remember that some women actually do go to the gym to work out! I go at 6:00 am and, apart from two young "spandex" girls, everyone looks like they just rolled out of bed (which we did) but no one cares. I work out really, really hard and I have never cared what I look like at the gym. Like a friend of mine said "We come here to sweat".

The gyms are all almost empty on Saturday afternoon. And at my gym, I think they're pretty empty between like 10:00 - 3:00 pm. There's the "before work" crowd, the "lunch time work out" crowd and then the "after work" crowd. In between is usually pretty slow. Which is nice, actually!

It may be, but since I have to get up every morning at 4:45, I don't want to make it too late. Also, this strange town I live in has a bunch of weathly families where the wives do nothing all day but go to the gym in the morning and then lunch with friends, manicures, shopping at the mall etc. At least in this part of town, so I doubt the women will be working out at that hour, but some men may. At the gym where I work though, the men seem to come at 6 and work out before work. There is also an LA Fitness less than a mile away, and that one is more popu;ar around here, so that should lessen the traffic at the gym some.
Anyway, I'll give it a try, and if it really is crowded then I'll find another time to work out there.
I went around 2:30 today and it was practically empty!

Got out of the gym by 1:20, not too bad! The thing was there were two trainers and two independent contractors still there, so I couldn't kick them out!
The %$^$#% cash-register-screwing-up-one scheduled a session for one!!!! Oooops, he ddn't realize we'd be closed!!! He's one of the supervisors, so I got the gym ready to close and rang everything up and then left him there with instructions on how to turn up the a/c, turn on the alarm, etc. I hope he doesn't screw up. At least they've taken his password to the register computer and made it not work, so he comes and asks me to log on for him every 10 minutes! Anyway, he won't be able to get on now, and that's a good thing!

On my way home I went to check out Gold's Gym about a jmile from my house. Turned out membership there is $29.99 a month, so I joined! Like I mentioned, I figure going back to the gym where I work after working at the office will cost me $75.00 extra in gas a month if I do it three days a week. So this made more sense. I'm excited about it! I'll go tomorrow and then start going every Monday, Wednesday and Friday after work. This way I can work out from 5:15 or so to 6:30, and not have to spend a half hour commuting, either - yay!!!!!
