The philosophical cat site was wonderful, thanks Jess. My cat did really great emotional blackmails but my dog was the really talented one. It was back in the days of answering machines and I'd leave for work feeling so guilty I'd call and leave him reassuring messages all day. Then I'd have to play through all the messages when I got home and hear my calls to the dog. YEESH!!!

It's a great forum jess! - especially if you have a good sense of the ridiculous, which I think you do! Think you're our first Aussie TDKer, we have 3-4 from NZ, so you'll probably see them about as you'll have the same/similar time zone. Their names are Kapitikats, Moonshadow, Airy (except she's moving to the States) and Jcat.

Hi thanks for all your comments...

Madcat - No I'm an aussie..but close enough ;)

Sandi - they are still kittens - Willow is about 8months and Wicket the white fluff ball is about 6 months. Wicket - is named after the cutest ewok in the star wars movie. Both Willow (great kids movie) and Wicket are two unlikely heros in movies...so I kind of liked the names.

Yeh...Willow hates it when I sleep in too...his other trick is to jump on the curtain if I sleep in too late. He jumps on it and then turns his round to see if I'm watching - then I have to get up to get him down. Seeing that I'm up already, I give him his breakfast biscuits...So of course, this habit has stuck. But the curtain is looking a little worse for wear. One time though, when I was house sitting...I looked after this ladies cat who slapped you in the face if you slept in. This same cat also attacked my partner one time when he hugged me. It was pretty funnycause the whole time we house sat my partner couldn't come near me in front of the cat. He was too scared...lol.

I have been well trained by my cats and so has the dog. When I feed him he always waits until they decide what they want to eat from his food. Now I understand because he is littler than they are that they have an edge but they also had my 60 pound aussie cross standing and waiting patiently until they had what they wanted. Willow's blog is delightful, Jess. What nice cats you have How old are they? and what is the other one's name?

Some dinosaurs were also presumed to have brains the size of a walnut. They are extinct.

Cats, being beautiful and clever and adorable and manipulative little beasts, will be around here on earth long after man is a legend to the apes.

And most likely, the cats will be bossing the apes around.

Welcome to TDK, and I love your blog!

Hi jessiej, welcome to TDK! My cats are good at emotional blackmail too, and getting their revenge when I don't play ball. I dared to have a lie in this morning, and Bones (my Mum's elderly cat who lives with us) ate some of the others' biscuits (which he's not allowed) and threw them up in the doorway. Nice.....!

I love the blog btw, and have added it to my favourites - great captions!! Am I right in detecting a UK based way with words?

My cat has just started this new trick. When I'm in the kitchen he cries for food. After a while, cause I don't give him any, he runs away and hides under the fireplace - Of course, I feel really bad, not to mention worried, and call for him to come out, then I give him lots of cuddles and something to eat.

I think his trick is called emotional blackmail

jess
