Good evening to our N.American friends and happy Saturday to our friends in NZ and UK. Thought I would start the NS..it's been a while.
So to update everyone, I took Abbers to the dr. no ear infection..she's healthy. She has some stuff in her nose due to allergies..so I am to use saline solution for that..I told the dr about the whole waking up and the nights of he** and she said, she is teething, so due to the fact she's 19lb 12oz, I can give her more medication for that. Also, she said it can be a matter of..hey..mom comes when I cry..I can sleep whenever, so lets cry and get mom in here..she said I have to break the cycle if it's that. Which I am already starting to do. So I gave her the higher dosage of meds and her bottle at bed and I hope and pray she sleeps all night...pray for me. :)

Anyway, I am going to get some popcorn, and go watch a movie..Wayne is studying for his test tomorrow and I am going to leave him to it. Good night all. Catch you in the AM or the PM depending on your continent :)
Hugs!!!

Hey everybody!
So, Im in the market, looking for an inexpensive (less than 50 us dollars) 35mm film camera to take photos of raja with, and to use in my beginner photography class. Because im just starting, I don't really need a high-end model, just one that I can learn with and that actually works. My budget is $50 and id really like to find a good deal on/by Black friday. Can someone please suggest some? Thanks!

So my cats had a vet visit today and I asked for an estimate for what it would cost to have my cat spayed, and they gave me an estimate of $353. And the only place they accepted vouchers/coupons from, apparently, they ran out of funds. I was wondering if anyone here has had their cat spayed/neutered at clinics and how that turned out. We were told that the Vets did a blood test before hand to make sure the cat's organs could handle the anesthetics and that they were kept overnight (the females at least) and were under constant supervision, both human and mechanical (monitors). They said the spay clinics did not do that and sent the cat home the same day. Obviously I need my cat spayed, but that's quite a hefty bill, especially taking into consideration that a few months from now, I'll have to get the kitten fixed as well. We're going to look into some stuff, but if anyone has any experience with alternative places or good websites to locate such places, post some links if possible.

My daughter got a kitten from our neighbor that is solid white his name is Cloud Thunder I think he may be deaf. He loves to play but he only wakes up when we pick him up. I asked my mother about him being deaf and she said that since he can meow and purr he is not but it is so fustrating that he dosn't come when called or act like he can hear us walking in to his room. Anything will be helpful. Also, I am in a search for a long hair black and white female kitten like I had as a child, any one out there know where I can find her?

Well, it's official. The US, the UK and NZ are in a recession. I know that lots of us are dealing with financial difficulties...some much more than others. But I bet that most of us are tightening up the purse strings. I thought it might be helpful (and fun!) to have a corner where we can post some of our favorite budget-friendly tips and ideas. Do you have energy-saving advice? Maybe a low-cost recipe? Any frugal tips involving pets? Post them here!

I will start it off with the latest Wal Mart freebies. The forms are very quick and easy to fill out and the products always arrive...and NO spam afterward! New offers are usually added every few days. For the freebies that you can't personally use, there is always a pet shelter that will accept the pet freebies and a women's shelter than will accept freebie baby products.

I have a peace Lilly i was given at my dads funeral. When we went on vacation the pet/house sitter forgot to water it..so when i got home i had A LOT of dead brown and yellowish leaves...I thought the answer was to water it tons for a few days and it would come back....boy was i wrong!

I am guessing now ti has root rot, not a single leave left and barely 1 stalk...i have removed it from the dirt, took off all the mushy dead Root and i have a small amount of "healthy" white roots...is it possible to save it? How do i even go about trying to save it at this point? Is it better to re-pot this tiny bit of a plant in a small pot of try and grow it in water? Thanks guys!

Now i didn't think it was that hard; and given the "replay all" war we had back the beginning of the year where it was agreed "replay all" was NOT a good way to address unwanted emails...it would seem there are still some people who think it is.

Why would it be so hard to simply (politely BTW) ask the sender of the email to not send you these such emails, remove you from their contacts etc.? Look at the alernitive...I sent that email to more then just TDK "family"; i sent it to my 97 year old grandmother, who just learned how to use email and is now scared to use it again because people she doesn't know have some how "stolen" her email address. I sent it to my brother in Falusia, who gets a total of 9 minutes a week to check his email and respond to his loved ones. Instead of being able to respond he is sifting through emails of people he doesn't know and now doesn't get to reply to his wife for another week.

I understand and respect everyones religious views...it was not meant to "shove religion down your throat"..it was about a Christmas card to a company who wishes to remove religion from the meaning. I didn't mean to offend anyone...

NO "snopes" is not the tell all of what is right and what is fake. If you read snopes you would see what they are saying is FALSE is that 2 tons of Christmas cheer would not clog up their mail room...they also stated they did not play a part in a law suit to remove religion from the holiday....no where in my email did it say they were a part of any law suite.

With that being said...why would be it SO hard, if you disagree, don't like, or don't care for an email/person to ask THAT person as opposed to starting this "reply all" war we all disagreed some months ago was distasteful to begin with?

Hi Guys,

Just wondering whether these two kittens are male or female.

Initially I was bothered about their survival. Now that they are doing well, I'm trying to figure out their gender. Both are are 31 days old.

I have read many articles regarding gender determination. However, it is very difficult to tell if they are male or female :) I have read about the colon and semicolon method, and other stuff. However, it's so difficult to figure out.

Looks like I may have to change some names:)

There are 2 links for each kitten.

I was reading an old cat book the other day and found this list. It is pretty funny so thought I would share:

If You Didn't Have A Cat ...

1. Your supply of amusing anecdotes would dry up in no time
2. You would have to live with toliet paper that is still on the roll
3. Your feather duster could survive unmolested
4. Your nylons might last until you make it out the door
5. Your houseplants would look like ... houseplants!
6. You would have no use for the plastic milk jug rings
7. You would be forced to go vacation without feelings of anxiety and guilt about your feline's well-being
8. You would have to show up for important business and social functions without cat hair on your clothing
9. You would have to come home to the dullness of a house with no furry welcoming committee
10. You wouldn't have to keep answering questions like, "You have how many cats?" and "Doesn't your house smell?"
11. You probably would have fewer really impressive scars to show people
12. Your furniture wouldn't have that "fashionably furry" look
13. You would wake up late and be late for work
14. You'd miss out on the pleasure of locating strategically placed hairballs with your bare feet
15. Shopping in pet supply stores wouldn't be much fun
16. You wouldn't be able to leave the office early for vet appointments

A couple of the neighborhood kids just came to the door asking for my help. There was a kitten they said was stuck way up top of the tree & they didn't know how to get it down. I go over there & there it is,perched just about as high as it could, crying away. I started tapping the trunk of the tree & calling kitty kitty. And that little stinker climbed straight down & got on my shoulder & wrapped her little paws around my neck w/the loudest purr I've ever heard. She's solid dk.gray & about 2 months old & thin. And Extremely vocal!! Bless my neighbor (the one who has also TNRed thru the yrs.) took her for me.
I have zero capacity here & my life is in turmoil at this time & there's no way I could take her in. She called one of her other foster friends to find a place for her. She's also going to give her the shots she needs & deworm her. It's the second cat in the last week that's showed up here. The other one she spotted this last week (an adult,long-haired orangie) we've never seen around here. It's the most lovey-dovey little furbutt I've ever encountered. I only have unfluffy thoughts for the previous owner who carelessly let this little girl out,or simply dumped her. She"s
safe,fed & warm now. :)
