  1. You can't change your username, but you should be able to edit everything else.

  2. Hello, I had some password problems, but am squared away now and think things are going great. Will be learning more about "chats" and "blogs", as I am sort of new at this. Having topics and kit pics separated is going to be more "readable". I like it that things will be in order posted as last-in first would be a bit confusing. I have had some of that before - having to go backwards to find the start of a set of comments. Question - when will things expire ?? How long will comments stay posted.

  3. After registering and then logging out, I was on the main site and clicked on the Log In to Reply link. After logging in, I was taken to a page that displayed my profile info, where I could also enter my first and last names, some more info about myself and where I could specify what name I wanted displayed publicly, so that I set it up to display Rubia_UK_4/28 instead of RubiaUK428.

    But now I don't seem to be able to get back to that page. When I click on the link to edit my profile, it only allows me to change my password and update my email, location, occupation and interests. How can I find that page again?

  4. One other suggestion - It is great seeing who was the last person to post and when - but is there any way to show who first started a given thread?

    Love the chat site...it's a wonderful way for us to connect, support, and help each other. It also provides us an opportunity to ask questions and to just have fun "talking" to everyone.
    I look forward to the fine-tuning as you get other things worked out.

  9. A quick mention, KittenMaster... I attempted to set up a login as anncetera, but Hotmail apparently filters out your password notification email. It doesn't even make it into a spam folder! A way to work around this is using a different account (yahoo, gmail, etc.), but I wasn't sure if you'd been notified of this particular issue yet. (I solved my problem by using a yahoo email address.)

  11. Having a VERY weird problem - when I go to the Daily Kitten Chat Forum page it recognises me as AntipodeanMoonshadow who is my sister - 6 hours away! When I click on my profile it brings up her profile but with my KapitiKats name in the welcome at the top of the page! When I then click on my profile on that page it does go to my profile. Could this have anything to do with me logging on at work and then going online later at home? Rubia help! Also my page is not refreshing!

    Check the two night shifts. We have been having problems getting past "4" on night shift and it started doing the same thing on night shifters.
    I had to reboot my computer to get it to work.

  13. I'm having the VERY weird problem too, I was on the Chat Forum and discovered Welcome KapitiKats at the top of the page, that was freaky ! (big smiley face). Every time I log on now I check to see if I'm me or my sister.

    AntipodeanMoonshadow/KapitiKats in NZ: that's very strange - can you confirm that you never share the same computer? (By the way: I grew up in NZ and my first cat was called Kapiti).

  16. Thanks AZDeb! See 'How to change the way your name is displayed' under General Chat. It has instructions for how to create a nickname (in addition to your actual user id) and have that nickname display instead of your user id.

  26. Kitten Master: I followed the instructions Rubia gave on changing what shows when I comment from my username to my nickname. I logged out, clicked on login and got to the appropriate page on WordPress. I created my nickname and chose it as the one to be displayed. I clicked Update Profile. That much worked.

    I now find that I can login on the TDK chat page, but not on the main TDK page so I can't comment there. (I did follow Rubia's instructions on clearing out the temporary cache on my Internet Explorer browser, closed Internet Explorer, then went back online to the main website. That didn't fix the problem. I still can't logon at the main site.) When I came back to login to the main website, I am sent immediately to my profile page on WordPress which shows me as already logged on. I clicked on view site which took me to the main TDK page, but I was not showing as logged in there. Anything else you that I should be doing?

    Kitten Whisperer: without boring you with the technical details, we do something (for a very good reason) that means that any changes you make to your account won't come into effect straight away on the regular TDK site. That's why this happened. As we go on I'll write a FAQ page that lists some of these things.
