Relax, petpntr. LV throwing disgusting things is one of the longest-running gags on TDK. For her to fling on your post is an honor, dubious though it may be.
Kinda like a popular fundraiser in rural Texas called Cow Pie Bingo: believe it or not, an organization will mark off a pasture into a grid, offer the sections for a small amount, then release a cow into the pasture. Whoever picked the section where the cow first dumps gets the grand prize: a tractor, a trip, a handmade quilt, whatever gets donated. This time, you won!

Uh, oh. Ladybug's high school is having one, but I didn't pay much attention to the announcement to know which organization (the FFA?) or when or how much.
Did Texas play today? All I know is that the Dawgs had a bye week (which they badly needed) and Auburn is losing to Vandy. (gasp!)

Gatakitty I hope you didn't think I took offence from anything LV said. If you did you must have misunderstood. How could I be offended by her message? She gave me a nice compliment. I certainly didn't take offence from talk of poop flinging and have been joking about her Christmas cards since she first mentioned them.
And by the way thank you for the compliments you guys. If I run out of a Hero for my website I know where to get one now :)

So, Petpntr, let me make sure I understand this. You ask what problems a person would have with PETA because you want to know “if they are some kind of a nut or if they really have a valid objection”. But, when someone DOES give you a link to a site that shows what problems people might have with PETA you dismiss it with “I guess for every good thing someone can say we will always find someone willing to say something bad about any person, organization or group” which left me with the impression that you supported PETAs actions so I asked you if that was the case.
Also, when I ask you why you are so quick to discount what they have to say just because of who they receive funding from your response is that “this isn’t a debate”. Who was debating? I was asking your opinion but I guess that while you can ask questions of others no one should ask questions from you, is that it? You said you wanted other people’s opinions, well I wanted yours.
Finally, you admit no knowledge of the fact that PETA employees were killing animals in a van and then dumping the bodies behind the local supermarket and when I respond that you would have know all of that if you had read through the website you dismissed offhand at the beginning of this thread you give me the “Oh, you are so boring” passive-aggressive attack stance to the delight of the other passive aggressive here such as LV.
Now, I apologize that I did not phrase my words to take into account how sensitive you must be, but if you don’t want answers I would suggest you no longer ask any questions.

I was going to stay completely out of this, but I can't.
Why is it that, when Instinct gave information regarding PETA, he was shot down with a comment about not wanting to start a debate, but when I post negative information about PETA, I am listened to.
Instincts comments about PETA were just as valid as mine, yet he is pretty much shot down. Granted, he did ask a question which could easily have started a conversation (not really a debate) about the ethics of PETA and their followers, but still that doesn't mean the information he posts is any less valid nor should he be shot down the way he was.
I have seen a pattern here at TDK - not just on this post - that I really do not like. In an effort to be fluffy, all conversation that could lead to any kind of debate or exchange of opposing opinions, is immediately silenced, and if it isn't silenced, somebody either goes on the attack gets their feelings hurt and threatens to leave. It didn't used to be this way. We used to be able to have conversations where everybody would either learn something or agree to disagree. Either way, we would all come out of it unscathed. Now everybody is so afraid of somebody getting their feelings hurt that people are afraid to say anything "out of line." I thought we were all adults here (except for the younger TDKers) or at least were able to handle it when others disagreed with us.
I honestly think we have lost something here. And please keep in mind, I wouldn't be saying these things if I didn't love and respect my TDK family. I just don't like the way we are having to walk on eggshells lately.

OW And Instinct! Both had valid answers! The difference is the tone in which they were given! I heard honest and passion and comnpassion behind you answer OW! I heard in Instincts attacks and an agruementative tone! We are trying to keep things fluffy so not to cause anymore blow outs and loss of members!
So yes we are walking on eggshells sometimes, but also if you recall I was attacked for having a debate after trying to be understanding and explain things to instinctwhich then did get into a fight after he started attacking me and misunderstanding my meanings! Then I was attacked as was he by another member! So you must understand it is better to bite ones tongue and say nothing versus causing a debate and causing angry words!
Now I do not support PETA and never had! For the suipposed as much good as they do they also killed many many more to help make them golden!
So instead of letting an issue like this boil over and burn many or a few it is just easier to leave it be! I am one of the biggest shit disturbers some times and I take credit for it, but I have also reined myself in and leave it solely to playful actions! I have also made sure to steer clear of some threads knowing they are possible triggers. I have also began to limite my time here as well since more important things are takeing over! I come in I hit early the cafe if not working and night shift at night! I used to be on from 4 to 10pm everyday now I am on each afternoon maybe 2 hours and that is not like it was either because I have six other things I am doing. I come on kinda report in on MaxMax say hi try to catch up with everyone. Impossible but I try, so I do not want to waste what little time I have on unpleasant artguements or heated discussions.
So OW you can say that we are attacking or being rude but many of us yourself included have been hit very hard by life, so forgicve us if we would rather come here and have some less stressful time over the hell of our days in the real world.
As for isnstict there's no misunderstanding. He and I spark each other, mine in protectiveness of his tone and his attacks on memebers here, and him probably because I wont just blindly listen and follow his wise words of wisdom. I do listen and there have been times I have done further research on something to help me decide my own mind. Butr, instinct and I know this and we will work it out together or not and just either avoid each other or have barely civil interactions but that s his and my choice no one elses.
No I admit after seeing Instincts response I did warn PetPntr to jsut leave it be, because I say hackles being raised so I will take blame for that. Also yes I said "very elegantly stated Petpntr! And no poo gets thrown until I lob the first cow pie! "! Take it as you please! I gave her credit for standing up and for stating her purpose nothing more. I also saidf if shit was to be thrown I get to be first. EVeryone needs some one to be a target and since me and instinct already are on uneasy ground might as well be me! At least we both get it out of our systems and no one else gets the brunt of it!
So take it how every you will TDK Fam. You can blame me which I will accept for seeming to silence instincts voice or right to comment. I will even keep my mouth shut if asked. But I said what I said on leaving it alone because as of late we have had our fair share of distension here! And truthfully I have enough crap on my plate and don't want to come here and have more crap thrown in my face! This is a site of sharing and support given to those who have questions, have hit hard times or even sometimes need to get lifes stress off their shoulders. I will even admit there are many times in the past I have sided with instinct and only rescently has he and I had a battle so to speak.
By the way Thanks Instinct for mentioning me! Passive-agressive!? Sometimes and then sometimes I can be right in your face agressive and on full attack.
But then hey we each have our moments!
So on that note I say have a great day! And catch ou all around somewhere on the tdk!

Because, OW, TDK is a girls only club where if there IS A guy around we are expected to keep our mouths shut and "know our place".
See, people like LV can't stand someone having a different point of view that what she has so she HAS to attack them, she has no choice in the matter. A different point of view threatens her to no end and because of that she will attack even if the comments or questions weren't even directed at her.
She will then make comments about how "Well, he doesn't like me anyway" which is patently untrue, I have no feeling for her at all - much like any other stranger on the street, I could care less. All I can assume though is it makes her feel somehow important because "I'm sticking up for my sisters" and that makes her heroic in her own mind.
But she then wraps up with "There are many times I have sided with Instinct" and yet, none of them come to mind at all. Strange, isn't it. Somehow she has been on my side and I think I would remember that, but nope - nothing. So all I can say is here, once again, is the classic LV passive-aggressive atttack. See I chose to not say anything to her but she then posts this long winded bash ending with "have a great day"
So whether I want to work it out with LV or not is irrelevant because she won't leave anyone alone that she doesn't like. A bully on the TDK playground she will try and make anyone she doesn't like leave by insulting, attacking and basically being rude to.

Keep it fluffy, guys, or leave. My posting guidelines are really very simple, and if you don't think you can adhere to them, I'd rather you took it elsewhere altogether. If this website isn't what you want, create your own or find another that accommodates this kind of bickering more willingly. This thread is now closed.
