  1. One of my mother's cat escaped one day this week and she has not been seen since. I know Mom is afraid that a dog got her because she is timid and does not wander. It is possible she was chased and got confused. My mother is heartbroken. Please pray Rugrat comes home and if that isn't possible that Mom will feel better. She is blaming herself. It is harder also because this cat was one of my brother Davids and he was killed in an auto accident 8 years ago.

  2. Oh Sandi, I'm sorry - your poor Mum, and poor little Rugrat too. Has she tried putting flyers up, and/or putting some clothing that smells of her or some food outside? Cats can be gone for a while then turn up, I hope there's a happy ending here. {{hugs}}

  3. Oh Sandi, I am sorry to hear about Rugrat. I hope she comes home soon, poor baby. I pray she will be home soon and if not, then your mom finds peace somehow.

  4. Flyers won't help because they live out in the country and she has a lot of room to roam. I'll suggest some clothes when I talk to her. She keeps food out for the Tom cat that showed up last year and demanded to be fed. We don't know if he is a stray or just likes to come visit. I do hope she comes home.

  5. Try renting or borrowing a humane cat trap from the local shelter.
    put smelly food like tuna in it.
    Perhaps she is hiding nearby.. I will send positive thoughts.

  12. Willing Rugrat to come home safely very soon, and that your mum finds peace. If it's any comfort, grown cats are usually faster than dogs and there's usually a climbable tree around for refuge...

  15. Sandi...I've been where your mom & you are many times over. But,there's a very,very good chance that Rugrat will come home safe & sound. Sometimes when an indoor kitty 'gets out',they're so overwhelmed with all the new smells & all that they forget about what it's doing to mommy at home. The humane trap is a good suggestion.
    My Prayers to You & Mom that Rugrat will tire of his ventures & come home safe.

  17. Thank you everyone for your prayers. Mom found her shut up in a closet today. She doesn't know why she didn't make a big fuss about being shut in. Mom is really happy she found her and we both thank everyone for their prayers and good wishes.

  18. Great news! I have done that more than once, but the cat usually starts to cry at some point (feeding time always!). I know how she felt--when my daughter's cat Missy died I felt the last link to her was gone.
