  1. Hi everyone!!! There was a kitten dumped off at my friends house. He is not a cat person at all and has given me a few days to find a place for her before he "takes care of her". She is very social and just purrs away when you stop to give her attention. She is a little doll and just wants to be loved. I am looking for a no kill shelter in case I have to go that route but unfortunately the one that I have found nearby has no room for her. I would keep her in a minute but I don't even have a home that me and by kids, fur and no-fur, can call our own.

You can see her picture in the link below.

  10. Is he threatening to kill the cat? That's what it sounds like to me. There are laws against inhumane treatment of animals.

  11. Chuck, she is a beauty, wish I wasn't so far away and that I could fit another one into my 'four is a limit by the landlord' psssttt I have five but its new math!

  12. Is no one else disturbed that this "friend" said he was going to "take care of her?"

Posted 3 years ago by Catwoman #

  13. Yes CW I am disturbed and I assume the take care of her is death!

I'd try to help out but I can't from here and parents are still firm in the no more cats! Plus with max's vet bills I just can't swing it! I hope we can get a network going here to help her!

  14. I too, and disturbed by the friend saying he would "take care of her." That cat has to be gotten out of there and fast. Not only that, but maybe the friend needs and education in the humane treatment of animals.

  15. Are there any shelters that you know of around you? I know a lot around here aren't accepting animals because they're beyond their limits, but maybe you could ask you vet if he or she has any contacts with people who may be able to take her (and if the vet finds someone, you can pretty much guarentee the people will take care of her)
I'd call the Humane Society and any other types of shelters you have around you.

I'm not sure where Arkansas Ale is, but can I assume it's in Arkansas?

It's so sad that someone can dump off cats like they do!
Is there ANY chance she could be lost? Maybe if your petstores put up lost/found messages, someone looking for her could have put one up... it's just a thought.

Good luck! I'd always love to save her, no matter how far away, but I think six is my limit :-D

  16. CCM, I'm sure you may have already checked all of these groups already:

    http://www.lastchancearkansas.org/organizations.php
    http://muttcats.com/shelters/arkansas.htm

Please widen your search, if you can, and ask the organization's you're talking with if they have anyone fostering animals who has room for one small kitten. If there's a PetsMart around, check with the group who adopts cats out from that location.

I wish like heck I could help you! If this were 8 years ago, I'd drive on down. But I'm unemployed, fighting for unemployment insurance & to find a temp job; and have 6 indoor cats of my own, 2 special needs cats who need homes, and 4 outdoor ferals.

Have you checked around in other areas? I can't remember where in AR you are...

  17. If absolutely everything else fails, I may know a veterinarian up in Rogers who would take pity on the kitty. You'd probably need to be willing to drive her up there, though.

  18. NC...that is the case with a the shelters here, they are mostly full.

Ann I am checking into the foster situation too.

Unfortunately OW a lot of people in this part of the state seem to be like that. He does not treat animals inhumanely, ie being cruel to them, but he absolutely does not see why anyone would want a cat.

Thanks guys, if push comes to shove I will introduce her to my cats, unfortunately that will be a tricky situation or she would be here already.

  19. Aww, well I wish you all the luck crazy! Hopefully something will happen and she'll either find a lovely home with a nice family or become your little darling.

  20. This may sound crazy but if you are in a rural area, how about checking with feed stores. One might be happy to take in a "partner" to help with rodent control.

Posted 3 years ago by ailuromaniac #

  21. One way or another I will make sure she is ok.

What an idea Ailuromaniac!!! I should ask the grain companies around here also, with beans an rice there are always rodents around...thanks

  22. I wish I could help Chuck, prayers that you'll be able to help her find a good home. [[Hugs]]

Posted 3 years ago by Buttercup #

  23. Thank you...prayers are most welcome.

Posted 3 years ago by Crazycatman - CA #

  24. Ailuromanic, that is a great idea!! I live in a rural area and our local feed store is home to quite a few kitties. They keep food out for them and even take them to the vet when they need to go. They have one that stays in the office that has only 3 legs. They all seem very content living there.

  25. I'm a bit far away to help but think you're a star, CCM, for saving this wee baby, hope she finds a great home!

  26. I'm adding you to my prayer list tonight Chuck...God Bless you for caring about this little girl. She's such a pretty little girl! Please keep us posted. :)

  27. bump.

  28. UPDATE...Looks like the little lost one will be coming to live with me, I have to get her a vet appointment, after pay day, so I know she is ok to introduce to my herd. So now I have to come up with a name for this new little one...

Posted 3 years ago by Crazycatman - CA #

  29. That is so sweet, CCM. She just knew she belonged with you and your herd! :D

Posted 3 years ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  30. Aw, CCM! You're a hero. I did like Ailuromaniac's idea; that was some good thinking.

Now to put our heads together and come up with a name.

Oh Miu, you're services are needed.... :)
