I found out this morning that a dear friend of mine lost her fight with lymphoma....It was quite a shock; over the past 3 years, she has battled lymphoma; had breast cancer(with the lymphoma returning); deemed clear of everything this past Mother's Day (and she celebrated by finally being able to cut and color her returning hair) only to have the lymphoma return aggressively this past July..
After 2 intensive rounds of chemo while hospitalized, she had her stem cells harvested, and was awaiting hospital admittance (scheduled the first week of Oct) I met her for coffee 2 Wednesdays ago; she looked tired, but her spirit remained indomitable, and she was looking forward to getting the last round of her treatment behind her and getting on with her life........Sara was only 59..
If you guys could just keep her in your thoughts today, I would be so grateful..she handled all these tribulations with grace and perserverance, and to know her was to love her...I am so saddened by her sudden loss...Tks much, TKD family

Sheila, I am so sorry for the loss of Sara. It is always so hard to lose someone who has fought such a valiant fight, and with such grace. And to be so young to have to fight such a difficult battle. But what a precious gift friendship is, and I'm sure that Sara taught you much about life. May the memory of such a precious friend bring you comfort.

Thank you everybody...it's a very very sad day for me...I think mostly because of her grace in dealing with one bodyblow after another...far different to the way I would have handled it...2BP, I love your post about her being an angel now...I will always invoke Sara when I need some strength and comfort...

Sara sounds very much like my late best friend, Sherry. Maybe they've met by now, and are talking about how wonderful it is to be free of the illness-filled bodies in which they used to live. It's hard on those who are left behind, though. My sympathy for your loss and comfort for your sadness.

I just want to say thank you all for your thoughts..I'll be heading to the funeral in a few hours and I'm certain that somehow, Sara has felt the love from more people than even she could imagine...she didn't have any kitties of her own, but my little guys always made her smile...
Tks again TDK family...it's so very comforting to just have people to listen once in awhile
