  1. I'm here too, guys. Spent all day chasing captions for a story -- waiting to hear back from a florist and interior designer, neither of whom was at work today. The landscape gardener wasn't either but luckily his right-hand-gardening person man was. They are all in Taranaki so I was paranoid about missing their calls. I still have to hear back from the florist but luckily the mag has extended the deadline until tomorrow.

Poor old KK. And it's such a beautiful day outside. I was going to get so much done in the garden -- but I've been waiting by the phone all day! Hope you got outside, MS.

  2. Hi Jcat. You asked the other day which wineries we went to. First was Te Kairanga for a tour and tasting - been there several times before. Then on to Alana for lunch. Very nice too and bought a bottle of their Riesling.

  3. TK is very nice and so is Alana! I also like Murdoch James for the beautiful setting of its restaurant -- looking over a river. I am very fond of Coney's because Tim Coney is such an (eccentric, singing) sweetie. (I've not only dined there, I've picked grapes as one of the casual workers -- he put a raincoat on me when it rained and stumped up an amazing morning and afternoon tea!) I reckon, if they're nice to the workers as well as the punters, they're genuine nice!

  4. Hi Jcat, yes I got out in the garden today, did weeding in the vege patch and created a new area for the Italian parsley. My untreated Macrocarpa boards arrived for the raised garden Mr MS and I are making when he's home next and then I can get more veges planted like butter beans and the asparagus peas. Saw daughter off home this morning. We have had an absolutely brilliant day, almost too warm and I have to get out in the garden soon and water it, the forecast rain for today didn't show up.

  14. Evening my friends, haven't had a chance to be up and about today, headache has reinvested itself w/part of its former strength and brought its friend the stomache upset with it. So going back to lie down since I do have a form of my Friday tomorrow, days off changed to Tues/Wed so its a wierd week. Plus tomorrow is work w/holiday pay, so actually its a day to drag oneself in unless its just not possible. Didn't mean to bring anyone down, hope that everyone has a good night's sleep and a wonderful day in the morn!

  20. Think it might be time to close up now, no activity here for 2 hours and I think a new day has dawned for our friends in the States so....., unless any latecomers want to stop by..... it's time to close Night Shift ,so here goes gratis AZDEBRA, LV, & Tigger begin....good job everyone & bless you.....good job everyone & bless you...

check - sweep the floor (never know who has been tossing stuff around)
check - lights off and turns out neon "TDK Night-Shift" and "Poetry Jam" sign in window
check - night lights glowing gently, puts on quiet classical music radio for ambiance and stragglers check - cat flaps swings creeeeeeeek (pulls out WD-40), check cat flaps again to ensure they swing quietly and effortlessly
check - doors closed, left just ajar so fuzzbutts don't come to us with complaints
check - dry kibble out as a midnight snack (so hopefully no 5 am breakfast wake-up call) and freshens litter-box. Puts away assorted fuzzy, squeaky cat-toys into Toy-Box
