  2. Poor Chandler! Maybe sitting with him in a steamy bathroom would help his congestion? Or a humidifier with Vicks in the water? Both of those things helped me when I had pneumonia and couldn't go to the hospital because I did not have insurance.

  3. {{{HUGS}}} for you and Chandler. I pray he is doing better. I wish I could send medical advice but have only prayers and hope.

  4. I'm sorry to hear that Chandler's condition is deteriorating. I'd recommend getting him to a vet right away, to give him the best chance of surviving.

  11. Chandler is still hanging in there, and seems to be feeling better, although he is still having a hard time breathing.

  12. Oh, thank goodness, I was very worried about what we might hear. Poor little mite! He is still in all our thoughts and we are all pulling for him. Please whisper to him that he has lots of people who care about him and want him to get better.

  14. If you are getting the Clovomax into him, and forcing fluids, he will be fine. He really does need those fluids and the meds.

  15. Praying for Baby Chandler!

  16. Don't give up on the poor guy...when I had pneumonia, it took several weeks before I felt that I could breathe without difficulty.

  17. I am having to keep him in the bathroom, because it seems as if he thinks he feels better than he actually is. He was following me all over the house, and his breathing was getting worse, he can breath fine if he just takes it easy, but he doesn't want to. lol. So mommy is forcing him to rest. Now he is on Viralys, Clavamox, some kind of drops for his eyes and nose, fluids, nutrical and B12. I just group all of his meds and fluids in the morning and evening, so I only have to stress him out twice a day. =)

  18. Thank You so much for the update CM. We really worry about sick kitties here at TDK and we worry about their people too. I'll keep praying for you guys!!!

  19. That's GREAT news, Chandler's Mommy! I know he is not out of the woods yet but I am most worried about sick kittens when they go 'flat' -- very lethargic and like little limp, flat dolls. It sounds like that is very far from the case for little Chandler, he is perking up like a good 'un and eager to be up and about. Yay!

  20. It is so great to hear...Keep up the good work.

I use to call my kitty Popeye when I gave him sub q's cuz he would get so puffy...

  21. Lil Chandler feels like my own little kitty now!! I so worry about him..I hope it's onwards and upwards from here, Chandlersmom!!! Hugs to the both of you!!

  22. Speaking of bathrooms, Chandlersmommy - maybe, if he's having trouble with his breathing, try putting him in a steamy bathroom, say during or after a shower. That may help his breathing some.

  23. Sending more purrs, headbonks and prayers for lil' Chandler! Don't give up!

  24. It is so good of you not to give up on that baby.

Ruggles was a very sick little boy when I got him -- same thing, URI -- and had to have a couple of scripts of CMax. There were a lot of steamy showers that we sat through, and four weeks after I got him he was tearing through the house with Rotley like a furry tornado.

Some kittens have health problems when you get them, but the babies almost always seem to respond and survive and thrive. Some of the ones that Anncetera have brought back from the brink are the stuff of legends, same for Susie and Lisa and so many others.

My prayers go with you. Please keep posting so we can hear about that little boy!

  25. His eating is back to what I would say "normal" is. His breathing is a bit better, and his energy is up a notch. It is almost like a roller coaster, one minute he is up, feeling way better, the next he can't breath which makes it hard for him to even keep his head up. He is the skinniest he could probably get, almost makes me sick to pet his body, as all I feel are bones. I can say at this point that I think he is going to make it. This Viralys stuff seems to be helping...if I even spelled that correctly. Earlier when I was carrying a basket full of laundry he ran between my legs and tried to trip me, so yes, I would say he is on the road to recovery, lol. Tripping is what only healthy happy cats attempt to do. =-P

  26. <---And yes, that is a pic of him the day I brought him home, October 7th. He looked better then, but as soon as he gains some weight I will take new pictures....maybe I will do like a time line in pictures of his recovery.

  27. Ohh,that's great to hear CM,that he's eating and his energy is coming back!!!!
