Should I bring my new kitten to the hotel?

  1. I'm picking up my new Devon Rex kitten today (Thurs) but have to leave tomorrow, Friday until Sunday. Should I take the kitten with me to the hotel?

  2. Absolutely if they allow pets!

  3. If they don't allow pets, is there someone at home to watch your new kitty? If not maybe you could pick him/her up Monday?

  4. Devon Rex.......Are those the kitties who look so angry? They're soooo cute. I'd take him to the hotel with me!

  5. Find a hotel that allows pets... then take the kitty with you. You will still probably want to have the kitty restrained to a carrier if you're not in the room (for housekeeping). Or else, if you're staying more than one night, notify the hotel that housekeeping should NOT need to clean your room between your nightly stays.

  6. Right on ann2. Day's Inns are pet friendly, that's what we use. The kingsize beds fit right to the floor too, so no kitty underneath.

  7. Don't forget to take a kitty litter box!

  8. I usually use Day's Inn as well. However, during Hurricane Ike, I relocated my cat and family to San Antonio for five days, and we could not find a vacancy at a pet-friedly hotel. However, PetSmart's pet hotel was there, and they called my vet and we were able to board Joshua.

I hope that whatever happens, you do not leave your new baby alone. It might be better to pick the newbie up after your trip.

  9. I would wait to pick him up--too much stress involved in a hotel both for him and you.

  10. I agree with Sheba's Mom and Ivory Bill, can't you pick him up after you get home? Imagine if he got out of the hotel room -- and that's if they let you have him there in the first place! He's going to be frightened and unsettled at first anyway, even in his new home with you there all the time.
