Thanks HM. I've been missing Shaddo and Jiggs a lot lately. I guess a contributing factor is the holidays coming up. Is December 22 when your Sebastian went to the Bridge? I've been trying to figure out who's Bridge kitties belong to who. Anyway, Leela has been helping by making a place in my heart for herself. She's been so adaptable with moving out of our house during renovations, loves the temp place, and hopefully will stay out of the contractors' way when we go back home in 2 weeks. This project would not have worked out well if the boys were around. Amazing how things work out in roundabout ways.

Wow you have some memory, Joan. It WAS 12/22. I really miss him a lot, and it has been worse lately, which I have also attributed to the arrival of the holidays. He was such a special guy. I'm glad I have Mavvy and Huddy, but nobody will ever replace my Booble. *sigh*

It's so hard no matter how long ago. They still stay in our hearts. My Sebastian was 3 years ago this last May and I still miss her everyday. Sometimes, I call Cricket, Bastian..oops :) I know she's watching me.Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

HM, I remember the date well. I remember feeling so bad for you, and I also knew Jiggs was not well but I wasn't ready to talk about it yet.
Feral, I've got my whack-bonk stick and when I'm done using it for my own purpose (don't ask!), I'll propell it 3000 miles to Mr. No-help. It's like a boomerang - it will come back to me then I can wing it at Karen's bad half.Posted 3 years ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

Good morning/afternoon, everyone! I'm home nursing a cold. It seems to be concentrated in my head and throat. Yuk!!
Karen, you will have your Christmas card work returned to you in such a wonderful way. I had fun when I was writing the cards last year and more fun reading those I received. I ended up covering most of my office door with those I received from TDKers! It really got me into a holiday mood that lasted through the holidays. Your family will be amazed! :)
Good luck with the home renovation, Joan. What are you having done?
Hi, Ange. Good luck today with Max Max's tests. He will come through like a champ!
Kilroy, I love the idea of George being the TDK resident ankle biter for those who need a reprimand! lol
I'm sorry you are having such trouble with non-helper, Feral. {{{hugs}}}

Hi, CM. I remember when you were sick. It's tough being sick when you are pregnant with not being able to take medications you would normally use. I ended up with a sinus infection when I was pregnant with my son. My face hurt so badly that I went to the ER. You should have seen the looks on their faces when I went to the intake clerk. I was very obviously pregnant so the first thing I said was, "It's not the baby." lol

Hi KW! I have a 1 bedroom bungalow and we added a level. Our house was leaky and the floors were saggy. Once we paid the mortgage off, it was time. It will still be 1 bedroom (so we don't have to go for a new septic system), but now we can have a normal size living room and a nice family room upstairs and I might even be able to get a table in the kitchen.
I had the head and throat thing about a week ago, yuk! Got over it fairly quickly and I wish the same for you.Posted 3 years ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

That is quite a home makeover, Joan. I hope the work is completed on schedule. It's no fun having to be out of your home while it's being worked on. I bet the end result will be wonderful! I'm glad your kitty is adjusting to it well. :)

Hi KW! I hope you get to feeling better soon. It really sucks having a cold or anything for that matter. I seem to keep something all year anymore. I sneeze lately with no provocation, usually cigarette smoke, strong perfume and such set me off. I know I'm not allergic to cats! :) I don't sneeze around them!

Could snuggling with kitties be a cure for the common cold??? I'm willing to do the research on this!! ;D

You know what's neat? The place we're staying was once my Grandparents' house. I have a lot of memories there and I sometimes feel my Grandmother's presence (too young to know PopPop). It's next door to my Mom too. She has someone renting it as of November 1 (they'd better take care of the place!) so we're out 2 weeks from today. Our house won't be done, but they will have cleaned and repaired the downstairs enough for it to be livable. Back when she got a renter, she asked if November 1 was enough time. It was at the time, but we wound up waiting on the town for 3 months for permits. I'm hoping Leela will stay out of trouble when we're back. That story to be continued...

Good luck with that, Joan!
I'm going to try to get some rest. Didn't sleep well last night. I'll be back later on. Have a great day!

Brought home a free pizza last night and decided to make it for lunch. I was trying to shift it off the baking sheet so the crust would get crispy in the oven, and almost burned down the house. It slid across the oven rack and part of it was hanging over the back edge and cheese was dripping down onto the bottom of the oven and smoke was going everywhere. I almost lost my pizza! I don't think I'll ever bring home a thin crust again. The grease of the pepperoni and salami soaked thru the crust, and made it drip in the oven. So much smoke! Thankfully there's a window right next to the oven. I have that open and the fan above the stove on high. That pizza better be good.
