  7. Thank you MS. This has been hard to deal with since it seems that everytime we think she is okay, yet another test comes back telling up it is still there. The pain in her legs is constant now. They have talked about a bone scan. I will take the article to the doctor. If simple honey can cure this that is so much better! She has been on antibiotics for over a month now. Right now you cant even see the stuff. The swollen and red skin is gone, but according to the last test this week it is still there. I am frustrated and worried. I just want her to be able to live and have fun, to grow healthy and strong. Same thing any mom wants for their kid.

  8. I don't know about a cure SM, but if the natural antibiotic properties of this honey can knock it back far enough for other antibiotics to come in and finish it off all the better. It was just a thought. To use the dressing you would probably need to have an open wound which it sounds like your daughter doesn't have but if that should happen again the honey dressing could be considered.

  9. She could have another wound again. I know she is taking high doses of a strong antibiotic and it is wrecking havoc with the rest of her. Appears to be making her sick. I hope this ends. MRSA is in the school. You are right about them needing to disinfect the school. The superintendent came out last year and said this wasn't a problem in our school. A bunch of other schools got hit, but we were assure it wasn't in our school. That just isn't true, according to the doctors my daughter has dealt with they are treating more than a dozen kids a week from the school. I'm frustrated and I suppose my grumpiness is showing, but it does need to be disinfected and no one will listen.

I am blessed that I can come to TDK and find not only someone who listens, but actually is willing to help find solutions!! Thank you MS!

  10. Maybe, if you can't use the dressing, you could try just taking a tablespoonful of manuka honey every day, if you can get hold of it or order it from a health store. (It also kills the bacteria which cause stomach ulcers.) It couldn't hurt. Maybe use it in hot drinks instead of sugar? (It has a quite strong taste)

Soxsmom, I am so sorry to hear this horrible thing is still in your daughter's system, hoping they can get rid of it entirely very soon!

  11. We Kiwis could always send you out some but I know that honey is one of those things that Customs confiscates so they might not let it through...

  12. Wait a minute--it kills the bacteria associated with stomach ulcers? I have ulcers and never knew there was something other than these awful pills! I love honey! I agree with you JCat. I think it can't hurt her to eat honey. She isn't a fond lover of it like I am, but it is worth a try. Thank you!

  13. No worries, Soxsmom, I am thrilled if it could help you as well. It's the manuka honey in particular which has the strong antibiotic properties. Let us know if you want us to try sending you out some!

  14. I was thinking you are right about it being at the health food store. If they don't have it, they can probably get it for me. I have a thing for this stuff called Choplets. It is fake meat that is suppose to taste like lamb chops. I don't think it tastes like lamb, but it is very tasty!

  15. If I can't find it--I know where to turn for help--finally!!

  16. It would be wonderful it it helped, SoxsMom. If they want to charge you horrendous prices for it, we can go down the supermarket for the common or garden variety! Wasn't it lucky MS's daughter worked for that company?

  17. YES!! I hope that Dr. Sawyer and Dr. Johnson read the information and do what they can to use this here--it would be nice to end this infection!
