   Except for this excerpt, "Yet, Swiss animal rights activists complained that the country still permits trading in cat fur (supposedly a pain-reliever for rheumatism), and that some new protections (for example, for rhinoceroses) are still inadequate" other than those I thought they were stand-up laws.

   The only way I have found cat fur to be a pain reliever for rheumatism is if the cat is still wearing the fur and is sitting on the affected body part. Fur can't be any different from hair surely, and that is a waste product from our bodies.
