  1. On a lovely, sunny, autumnal day, Rubia, Polly's Mum and I met at our usual venue for a few hours of good food and conversation. Unfortunately, the afternoon was cut a bit short, as since we were there last, the pub's decided to close on Saturday afternoons, but we held out til they turned the lights out at 3.30!!! No pictures this times, which is a great shame as PM turned up and departed in full bikers leathers whch was very impressive!

OK, cut to the important bit : we all had Hunters Chicken (chicken breast smothered in cheese and...BACON! - and served with BBQ sauce), PM was good and only had coffee for dessert, but Rubia and I indulged with chocolate ice cream and chocolate torte with walnut ice cream respectively. Yum!!!

  7. I wish I could be there, I love England. I also have English ancestry and feel so strangely at home when I am there, and I LOVE the food! Especially the dairy foods like cream, butter and yoghurt! I'd love to meet the UK TDKers for lunch on their home turf!

  10. Would have loved to see the leathers! Now, I have to ask...was she riding a harley or something of the sort? Wowzer!

  11. Yeah - we had another really good time and lovely food, but - as MCW said - it was cut a bit short, which was disappointing - we weren't done getting caught up!

LOL WWM! MCW & I both almost fell over when PM didn't have her fish pie! And PM's leathers were very impressive indeed! Pretty colours - black and turquoise! No - PM doesn't ride a Harley (that will be me - if I ever take the course and pass the test!); it's a Honda but PM will have to provide the details!

LOL Krazikat - You don't often hear someone say they love English food! That said, the quality of the food available in pubs, etc. has improved tremendously since I visited here the first time 16 years ago. And I do know what you mean about the dairy - my favourite is clotted cream... mmmmmmmmmm!

  12. Oh don't remind me Rubia! Clotted cream on hot scones with orange shred marmalade!!!
