    Hi Miu!!!!!!
I can't stay long but I had to pop in to say hi. :)

  3. Hi Miu, I'll stay a wee while but it's after midnight and I have to be up in 5 1/2 hours. Seeing as how this is all virtual I will have a big mug of steaming cocoa with marshmallows melting on the top.

  4. Hi, Miu, CM and MS, I'll have the same, please, yum. CM, you have a busy day ahead of you! MS, I hope you cheerfully survived the earthquakes today!

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  5. Jcat, I didn't even notice them, hubby and I were too busy making a raised garden box. It wasn't until I signed in tonight that I saw on Geonet that there had been two reasonable quakes.

  6. Hi MS and jcat. :)

jcat, it has already started. I got up at 6:00, fed the kitties, made me a pot of tea, wrapped Maddie's presents, got the camera, batteries ready, making something to eat, then I have to get dressed. I have to get Maddie up early so she can have an early nap then I get to leave and run around.
No rest for the wicked :)

  7. No rest for mummies either, obviously. :-) Gosh, it makes me feel tired just thinking about it, CM, don't forget to have a wee rest and put your feet up from time to time! MS, I was in the garden too, I have a beautiful set of poppies coming up; I just hope they bloom before the wind scythes them all down again and the kitties trample them!

Jasper and Libs were funny today, he was snoozing on the bed in the littlest room, which looks out on the flower border where I was weeding, and Libs was outside with me but she kept jumping up on the windowsill and making faces at him! Plus she brought a weta in, now sadly squashed (it hid under the beanbag and I think I accidentally trod on it. I gave it a chance to sidle outside earlier in the afternoon but it didn't take it :-( )

  8. awww Libby teasing Jas!! Silly Kitty :)
jcat you should post a picture of your poppies! I bet they are beautiful.

Everyone have a blessed, wonderful day and night!!! I am off to get dressed and get the birthday girl up :) I know she sends all her Aunties and Uncles on TDK big hugs, kisses and thank yous for her birthday wishes!!

  9. Unfortunately our sunshine today was short lived and we had to build the box in the garage as it was raining and chilly out. I also have some lovely poppies or what the winter's excess rain has left of them just coming into flower. They are red and black(like the ANZAC) poppy.
CM, don't forget that hubby and the inlaws are quite capable of doing the hard work and you can be Maddie's PA today. Do put your feet up and take things slowly, but have lots of fun and get lots of photos. Before you know it she will be off to foreign lands and doing things you never dreamed she would.

  10. Hope you all have a lovely family day, CM! I hope we get to see pix too!

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  11. MS, one of my beautiful Anzac poppies came out but unfortunately the wind had already blown over its stalk so it came out horizontally and I think someone trod on it... I am blaming the kitties... I can't wait for the others.

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  12. Half of my ANZAC poppies have rotted away with all the rain we had over winter and the rest have mildew but with a bit of TLC I should get a half decent display. I have to wait a week until I can get my new raised garden box in position outside then I have to fill it with compost etc before I can plant more veges. The box is too heavy for 1 person to lift, it's 1m x 1m and about 40cm high. We made it from untreated macrocarpa so no nasties leach into the veges.

    Posted 3 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  13. I can see if I ever get my vege garden started, I may be coming to you for advice! I have two fine worm farms though (I am very fond of my worm farms!)

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  14. You need good compost for a good garden, so you are half way there. If you can grow flower plants I have a feeling you should have no trouble growing veges. This year I am trying some plants I haven't tried before and some i've never heard of. I have grown 2 Scallopini from seed and supplied Mum and her neighbour with plants too. I am patiently(only just) waiting for some asparagus peas to germinate and hope to grow some Peans, a cross between peas and beans. I would also like to grow some Stevia, a herb that is 300 times sweeter than sugar, so I can use it for sweetening.

  15. I read about asparagus peas somewhere else (NZ Gardening email newsletter, I think). What on earth are they? Do they taste of asparagus or peas?

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  16. Oops, it's after 1 already. MS, we have to go to bed (separately, I hasten to add) or we will never get up in the morning!

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  17. Good grief, how time flies when you are having fun. I have to be up in 4 1/2 hours now. Asparagus peas taste a bit like asparagus and are cooked the same way. I love asparagus very very much.
    Goodnight Jcat,Miu and CM.
Jcat, see you later today if we aren't still asleep in bed.

    Posted 3 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  18. Morning :) Sounds like the veggie gardening is in fine hands, and hope that the poppies survive the wet weather.

  19. G'night MS, sleep well in this short time and wake rested.

Posted 3 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  20. Goodmorning Deb, you're up early again. Hope the crew didn't push you out of bed. I must head off to bed now so I will 'see' you later on in the day maybe.

    Posted 3 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  21. Hi, Deb! Looking forward to having you back on the night shift soonish! Night, MS, will see you later (but definitely not in 4 1/2 hours). I love asparagus too! Night/morning all!

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  22. If mine did this, my neck and shoulders would be dying.... http://mfrost.typepad.com/cute_overload/2008/10/this-just-in-ki.html

Night jcat, me too can't wait for night shift again, sleep well.

Oh they have been bugging me for the last hour or so, they are STARVING!!!!

  23. Morning, all! Is there any coffee?

I went to Chili's and the movies last night. The movie was so bad we ended up walking out and going to watch Beverly Hills Chihuahua instead :)
Today's my dad's 82nd birthday and I have to go get an international phone card so I can call him in Denmark and wish him a happy birthday. I also have to get some shopping in. I need to get something nice to wear for the tennis accessory business meetings and a planner as well that has more space than my little calendar. I also have to find something to hold up the kitty seat that was in the window until it (and poor Bobby!) fell down last week.

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  24. Morning everybody!
GD-what movie was it that you walked out of? Must have been really bad.
I'll be looking forward to hearing how your business meeting goes this week.
As for the window seats, I sent for one for my two, and when I got it, I was appalled at the flimsiness (is that a word?) of the darn thing, so I sent it back. It wouldn't have even held Max at only 7 or 8 lbs, much less Molly at her "petite" 11 or 12. Hope Bobby didn't hurt his "bum".

I wish everyone a happy, sunny day.

  27. TKS, gotta do something to wake up @ work this morning. How are you miu?

  28. Good morning, Everyone! I've been mostly missing in action since Friday. This weekend is the huge garage sale here that benefits Meals on Wheels. Mr. WWM and I worked Friday, Saturday and will work today. It will be a madhouse because everything left is half price today. Thank heavens for the $3 slow cooker that Mr. WWM got for me when he previewed the stuff for sale. Today I've got chicken wings in cooking. We've been so tired when we come home that it's nice to know that dinner will be done.

Despite the long hours on our feet, it's fun to see what people buy. And we think it will raise in the neighborhood of $90,000 for Meals on Wheels.

Catch y'all later. Happy Sunday and Happy Birthday, sweet Maddie!

  29. Woo Hoo WWM!!!

  30. WWM we deliver Meals On Wheels in our community! It is one of our favorite things to do. We have found a whole part of the community for our daughter. Being military and far from Grandparents, many have become Grandparents for her! Not to mention the wonderful company we have found and friends we have made.
