  3. Thanks, CM! How long it took you to get rid of it?

Posted 3 years ago by miu #

  4. it seemed to move fast for me, but it was about 7-10 days to be TOTALLY rid of it. But I felt better and could function better after 2-3 days.

  5. Karen, I hear you about the mess that comes with kitties. That's the one thing that's driving my husband nuts; he's always been the one who kept the apartment clean, and the cat hair and other assorted messes that come with George are really bugging him. I do try to keep ahead of the hair problem, but it's a losing battle.

  6. Kilroy, do you have a Furminator?

  7. feel better soon miu! as soon as i can get the pictures done and up and running somewhere i'll let everyone know. they are precious and when i go out to the garage ( a couple times a day) buddy comes running and climbs on my lap and starts purring, leela sits down next to me and is happy to just let me pet her. john says she doesn't like many people but she always likes to be near me and it surprises him. i'd keep them and kick him out if i could! not really, because i know he loves his babies! he told me the story of how he got leela - he was with a friend at a cat rescue - his friend wanted to get a cat and john just went along for the ride. when he walked in someone put leela in his arms and he carried her around for almost an hour and when it was time to go he left with leela and his friend left catless! they told john they had never seen leela so relaxed with anyone - she was about 9 months old and had lived most of those months in a cage at a vets or in a cage at the rescue - she lost her eye due to a misshaped head and to save her life they removed the eye and she wasn't comfortable with people because of the caged life - he just couldn't see her go back into the cage so he took her home. she is the sweetest cat i have ever been around - i was so proud that john has such compassion for her.

  8. I havent' tried the Furminator yet, Miu. We have a Kong Zoom brush, but George doesn't stay still very long when I try to brush him (hubby has a little more success). I may have to break down and get a Furminator. It has to be better than shaving the cat, right?

  11. Karen, how nice that John opened his heart to Leela. She chose him to be her savior.

Posted 3 years ago by LadyKat of IA #

  12. yes, i told him what an honor it was to be chosen by her, that cats choose who their human is, not the other way around. he wouldn't give her up for anything - and that he is lucky to have her - she has made him a nicer person for it!

  13. Good morning all! It has been busy in the cafe this morning! WWM, sorry you are down with the flu. I am trying to stay healthy myself. I had a nice jamba juice peach drink with immunity boost on Sunday. The drink was free as they opened a new store and are trying to encourage people to come and shop. There is also a new Greek cafe as well as Chipotle's next door. Those will have to wait till job is more secure.

CM, hope all goes well with your appt. Don't do the what-if's as it will only make you worry more. Isn't there some saying about worrying? Anyways, I am doing the worrying with my job and have to just take one day at a time.

Renee...a snake and a tarantula! Eeeekkkk! I think I could handle the snake but not the spider. I had a wolf spider that was the size of a small tarantula once back when I was renting a studio under a house. I believe I had a black widow spider there too. Both are in spider heaven as I was too freaked out to try to catch and put them outside.

Kilroy..imagining George all bald and shuddering. Oh no!!

Miu, hope you feel better. Ginger, honey and hot tea is what I believe others have suggested for when one doesn't feel good.

Okay, now with all of CM's and others talk about beef stew which I happen to love and chili, I am now hungry. My health bar isn't cutting it. Oh well. So in the cyberworld..may I have a gruyere cheese omelet and a heaping pile of extra crispy bacon, please. Oh and a large mocha with kahlua, baileys and whip cream. I need a little something to make me happy due to feeling depressed and scared about my job situation.

  15. i was just in the garage with the cats - when i walked in i could hear buddy meowing but couldn't see him - he was in the rafters above me! i said how are you going to get down? i couldn't reach him and wasn't going to try to stand on a chair to get him - he showed me how he was getting down and came down to face level and just started head bumping me and purring. when i had to come back in he tried to keep me from leaving - grabbing my feet with his paws and getting in the way. he just loves company! i'll go back out there for a longer time in about 15 minutes so i'll see you later, people!

  16. Hi SMM!!
*hands SMM a omelet with extra bacon, mocha with baileys*
I hope everything is okay with your job SMM, I am sure you feel like you are walking on eggshells. You are in my prayers.

  17. Hugs to Karin. I'm sorry your job situation is in limbo and am keeping my fingers crossed that you'll be able to keep your jjob. How are Sylvester and Mia these days?

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  18. Thank you CM for the "nummies". Nom nom nom nom. Yummmmeeeee!

Karen, love the visual of Buddy headbonking and purring. Sounds like he wants some human company. Give him some scritchies from me.

Thank you for the hug, HM. :-)

GD, Sylvester and Mia seem fine. Sylvester is his usual purring self. He did his kneading on me again last night. Mia and I had a fun playing session last night. Boy did she leap high in the air for the feathers on the wand.

  19. Awwww, cutie Sylvester and Mia! My boys have been fighting again the last couple of days and I'm now tending a scratch right by Milo's eye. I'm going to keep any eye on it in hopes I don't have to visit the vet twice in two days!

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  20. Mia and Sylvester wrestle/play fight but they seem to back off most of the time when one of them gets too aggessive and then they just chase each other a little bit. I can't clip Mia's claws as she won't let me and need to probably take her to the vet to get them clipped. I manage to get maybe 2-3 claws clipped before she either wakes up and pulls away.

Be nice Milo and Bobby! You don't want a time out do you?

Posted 3 years ago by SylMiaFelixsMomma #

  21. Thay're getting plenty of those!

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  22. Oh, no - I gave Miu my icky bug???? *honks into kleenex and shoves a cup to Theraflu over to Miu*

I don't know when I have been this sick. No, I didn't get a flu shot. I'm scared of shots!!! I don't mind at all being the "giver" of a shot but I'm terrified to be the "givee" *blushes*

Posted 3 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  23. The company I work for offers us flu shots each year. They are this Friday morning. I get one every year because I hate being sick. And since we start our tax work in January, none of us can afford to be sick (personnel as well as money-wise).

  24. Okay, I'm getting ready to leave the cafe for the day. Last person out, make sure the lights are out, all leftovers put away, and the agency kitties back in the van for their trip to their night home. See everyone tomorrow!
