Ugh... back sliding. Back to NPO after one day of clear liquids. Not keeping anything down. Pathology report showed not all the diverticulosis was removed. Hmmm... don't know yet what that means in terms of further surgery. He is so weak and tired... it's so hard to watch him. I left the hospital with a migraine last night. Too much to deal with sometimes... but thankfully this site is helping me cope.

Oh, I'm so sorry, that's really tough. Hope your head's better today, I can sympahise on the migraine front. My head's killing again too, and my neck is so stiff and sore...stress, all stress. Shall we run away? Pick a destination, I'll head to the airport and meet you there. I can feel my credit card twitching already...xx

So sorry about your dad. It really is tough to be a bystander and feel so helpless not being able to help. Some things you have to let go and let God or whomever do his/her work.
Giving you a long and comforting hug.

Latest update on Dad.... he's not doing so well. NG tube back in, and had a 2nd drain put in his stomach. There is a possibility of a 2nd surgery... all hinging on how well the NG tube works, how well the new drain works and if the infection can be beat back with antibiotics. For now it's a waiting game... with a minimum of 2 more weeks in the hospital.
I'm exhausted. Man friend was there for me this weekend.. and probably one of the reasons he's still around is I don't have the energy to discuss 'our relationship' when I'm holdindg my mom together. He does have big strong arms that hold me when I fall apart.

Sending you and your family more prayers, healing thoughts and hugs. Glad the Manfriend was there for you this weekend. Maybe he is on the road to redeeming himself and stepping up when he should.
