I just got a text from my parents to say that Sultie has passed away. I don't know yet what happened, but presume it had to do with his heart beating too fast, as it had been for a few weeks. My parents are away on holiday at the moment, so my baby died alone in a cage without the people he loved around him. I am beyond heartbroken, I really don't know what to do.

Oh Metsa, I am soo sorry to hear this. Poor Sultie. At lease he is safe at the bridge waiting for all of you to join him. He is now in the very best of company. My prayers to you all.

Metsa, I am so sorry...Sultie knew you loved him!!! He will be for you at Rainbow bridge.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

Metsa, I was so sad to see this thread and learn that Sultan had passed away.Although you were not there for the moment of his passing, you were there for so many important times in his life. Sultan had been doing so poorly that my guess is, in his eyes and because of his illness,he felt that all of the people who loved him were there with him to help him over. He had a good and full life surrounded by people that loved him. And those people will treasure his memory always. May your beautiful memories of Sultan, when he was healthy, bring you comfort and peace.

I felt so bad for you after your earlier post when you despaired of being able to go say goodbye and have wondered if you some how managed to do so. Now this to hurt you in just one more way is hard to forgive. My own belief is that Sultan knew you were thinking and hurting for him and he forgave you for not coming to him. He knows how much you loved him and how much you wanted to come and be there for him. Take comfort in the image of the Rainbow Bridge and that he's happy and free of pain at last. Your love for him will never die.

I did manage to go and see him a few weeks ago, managed to spend some time with him without any fighting. It wasn't good with my parents, but mum didn't start any fights either. And I got to hold him, and feed him from my fingers, and he purred as soon as I went to him. He was so so skinny and sick, but he knew me. When he had his kidny crisis at the start of the year, we dropped everything to run to him becasue we thought he was going to be put to sleep then and I wanted to be with him, I would have done it again, and I feel cheated that I couldn't. I really hope he knew how much I loved him and how special he was to me. I am trying to remember the good times and I know that he isn't suffering now. Thanks for all your kind words, they really do mean a lot to me.

I'm so sorry, Metsa, I know this is exactly what you were afraid would happen. Sultan knows it too, and he understands how much you wanted to be with him. He'll be waiting for you at the Bridge and his spirit will be with you until you see him again.
