What's a pavlova?!!! Oh, this is a blow to Kiwi and Aussie pride, we thought it was world-famous.... ;-)
It is a large meringue (often crunchy on the outside and melty on the inside although great arguments rage about the proper proportion of crunchy to chewy to melty...) with huge amounts of whipped cream on top and loads of sliced fruit, often kiwifruit or passionfruit pulp. It is the national Kiwi/Aussie dessert (we fight over who invented it first). Personally, I like tiramisu but you cannot have a Kiwi party without a pavlova!
