It will be in the low 50's all weekend then hit the 40's Sunday - Tuesday so we will be getting some snow..nothing major, it won't stick, it will just be in the air.
I don't mind snow, I just hate driving in it.

Thanks for the hugs, CM. Sending some back to you. How Miss Maddie this morning? Has the blue on her hands faded yet? I still think about how you were going to dress her in blue to match her hands. That visual brings a smile to my face.
Good morning, Karenopa. How are you doing today?
2B, it is going to be 77 here today. Seems as though we are getting a little cooler temps. Yesterday it was 82 and it didn't cool down much. In my area it was 62 degrees this morning.

Howdy, all! Life is much better today. My car was repo'd last Sunday, but I made good on the entire remainining loan yesterday and got my car and its contents back. This makes life much, much better! Now job-hunting can continue and my auto insurance will go down to liability only. If I have to take a job that pays less than my last one, I'll be able to get by a bit easier.
I'm spending my day today doing laundry and waiting for the natural gas technician to come turn on my gas today. It will be nice to have heat going! It's been down in the 30s at night for a while here, and I can tell that winter's on the way. (No frost yet, but it won't be long now.) Other winterizing activities needed include sealing up cracks, putting plastic on old single-pane windows, installing a weatherstrip at the bottom of the front door, and building outdoor cat shelters for the outdoor kitties. Their wool blankets have all been washed, but I need to find a couple bales of straw for their shelters. Also need to shred leaves and put down additional mulch, but that will take slightly drier weather.
In the meantime, hot tea, sheepskin slippers, and a microfiber blanket on the bed (on top of the electric blanket) are making sure everyone's comfy, including the cats. Plus the hazelnut potpourri warming over a candle. Life is definitely much better than only a couple days ago!

Thanks so much, Kilroy! Yes, life is made much harder with financial uncertainty. While it's true that money cannot buy happiness, it can buy huge amounts of peace of mind!
(I suppose the best part is that I've never been particularly well off, so it's not as though I'm missing something I've always had.)

Had to scrape my windshield this morning, brrr...

Thanks, Karenopa! I hope a job comes through for me soon, too. As much as I hate the idea of going back to what I was making as a temp 10 years ago, that may be what I have to do.

I think that's going to be the case for alot of people in America these days Ann. I'm thinking with the condition of the economy that some work will be better than none which is what so many are faced with now. Even if it's lower pay. It's all pretty scarey...but we've survived these times before and will do it again. *she says..hopefully*
Lower pay means a 50% hourly pay cut for me. I can probably handle that, as long as I pick up an additional 20 hr/wk part-time job, too.
But even the temp agencies aren't hiring right now... times are not good here. Unemployment is the highest it's been in 17 years.

Lol, Kilroy! I love the rain too, but only if it's when I can stay at home and the roof is not leaking (that's rectified by our home renovations).
Hi Karen! Leela is doing great. She will be at the spa on Monday and the cone on her head should make for some interesting stories next week! I may not be able to post often next week because of a program I'm working on that takes most of my computer's memory, but I will certainly check in at some point to let y'all (did I get that right, Southerners? You know, I use that expression all the time, then again, people do look at me funny quite often...) know how she's doing.

2BP, I've been a project manager, retail manager, and office manager. I've done grant writing, sales, training, and purchasing. I do not have a college degree, but I have several years of college under my belt. I've been told that I'm over-qualified based on experience, and under-qualified due to lack of degree. I'm trying to avoid straight-commission jobs, and jobs that are completely without benefits. I currently have no health insurance, so I'm hoping & praying to stay healthy until I find a job with health benefits.

Oh Anncetera..50% pay cut has got to hurt so much! Over-qualified/Under-qualified..ARGH! Sweety take care of yourself and stay healthy 'til things pick up. Take your vitamins!! {{{Hugs}}}
Julie..Illinois! Wow..I don't think I ever knew that! No wonder you love S. Ca.!! LOL
Joan..sounds like you're really busy...that's GOOD and yes..I'm looking forward to some great stories with Leela and the space collar.
Thanks! Local unemployment is even higher than the statewide rate; large employers here have laid a boatload of people off in the past 9 months.
