I know Ann...and it's getting worse everywhere. America is in for some of the hardest times we've known since the depression. Strap on the seatbelts..we're gonna really need them. =(

Thank you, Karenopa! It's not easy, and I appreciate any and all good thoughts sent in my direction. I think a lot of employers have hiring freezes based on the economy right now; everyone's holding their collective breath until after the election, I think.
I think I'm going to volunteer to drive people to vote on Tuesday, November 4th. Gas has come down enough that I can fill my tank fairly readily, and there are so many people worse off than me... I can't help but think there might be some who'd have a hard time making it to their polling places.

ANNCETEREA, you are always so optimistic, I admire you :) Have you tried to use shredded paper for their winter bedding, it seems like it would keep their heat in. I have been there a few years ago with my veh being repo'd and then paying off the lein the same day to get it back, what a stressor.

Wow! Ann..that's a wonderful thing to do! Helping people get to the polls will definitely make a big difference everywhere. Thank goodness in Oregon we have mail-in ballots which means my car's waterpump going out won't affect my getting out to vote..or any of the others here who can't get out.

If I'm optimistic, that's the meds talking. ;-)
Shredded paper would be great, but my paper shredder's busted. I probably should look into getting a new one. Lightly shredded oak leaves would probably work just as well, once it's dry enough to shred some.
I wish we had mail-in voting here, or early voting! Absentee ballots are only allowed if you know, ahead of time, that you won't be in your precinct on election day, or for other reasons such as: incapacity of confinement due to illness or physical disability (including caregivers), religious beliefs, employment as an election authority at a location other than one's polling place, or incarceration (provided one is still qualified to vote). Voting is not made particularly easy in Missouri, but at least the polls are open from 6 am to 7 pm.

good afternoon TDK's :)
I'm thinking of dashing off to the store really quick, I need to pick up cat food. Kizzie is being finicky and will only eat certain types of dry.... sigh. Thats ok, Doxie will eat anything and I will just get a bigger bag so it lasts a little longer lol.
Anyways I'm good, just trying to get rid of a cold. Hope you are all well!

Hi everyone I missed...just catching up on this thread..
SMM, Maddie's hands are back to normal :) Or I might have changed her name to Smurfette.
Ann, You are in my prayers. It's hard out there and I hope you find something soon. I think that is a wonderful idea to help people get to the polling places. it will help so much. We were able this year to mail ours in, which helped us out so much both Wayne and I mailed ours out about 3 weeks ago.
Chey, please get better soon. Seems a virus is hitting everyone all over the globe. Rest and get better.Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #
