(((Shelley and TOM))) This may sound off the wall. When my best friend's mom was diagnosed with extreme cirossis of the liver she was told that if she lived perfectly by the book she would have 2 years to live. She was having paracentisis every 10-12 days. She said the heck with that! She started taking milk thistle caplets. Milk Thistle strengthens liver functions and she started having acupuncture. She went to having paracentisis every several months and got over 4 years of good quality of life. Her liver damage was a direct result of having lived a life on various medications plus all the meds she had to take after quad bypass surgery. The prescription meds after so many years damaged her liver. It might be worth a try.
