It's addictive, at least if you're a word nerd.

I did and it is totally addictive. I got up to level 50 and "donated" over 2000 grains of rice. How many grains make one bowl do you suppose?

I got in, too. Don't know what happened before...but I agree with PM -- it's addictive! Thanks, AnnF, for posting this!

Thanks AnnF. I am a word gamer, I love them and this one helps feed the hungry! That's even better! Thanks

I can't get in either

I have a feeling the website can only handle so much traffic.....try again later, bustersmomma, and I bet you'll be able to get in.

An awesome and etymological cache of $25 words if I ever did see one! And for such a gratifying cause is beyond words. The very idea gives me anomia! I myself got up to I think approx.2400 grains before my pre-frontal cortex became numinous! ( I think I'll just go lay down over here and rest a bit.)
tigerpaw,
Are you using the dictionary? :)

Too cool! For all I know, I may be helping our local economy, too, since rice growing is the #1 industry in the area where I work. That one little impoverished community produces about 1 million bushels/yr. I'd like to think that some of it is feeding the hungry because of this cool little game!
Who knows--I've been looking for a way to improve my students' dictionary skills...this may just be it!
Here are all the language variants: http://www.freerice.com/ . Not in Finnish though. :(
I just got completely addicted. Went back for a second go, got up to over 4000 grains of rice and managed to stay at level 50 for 2 or 3 questions in succession. Then I started arguing with the definitions - there are definitely some on there I disagree with!!!! Oh well, it's all in a good cause.
