  1. Hi all!

GD, I share your snottiness and sore throatification, I don't know how I made it through work today, am now zonked on the sofa with hot water bottle, can't get warm. Feel mentally more alert than last night, but physically awful!!

  2. MCW, maybe a hot bath might help or a hot toddy? Hmm.

  3. ((SMM)) ((MCW))
We do need a dessert...Something decadent and yummy.

MCW, you better rest. I hope you got something in your system food wise and now will rest your mind and body. Better to feel rotten now than on your holiday!! When Wayne and I went to London, I got so sick the first night, I trudged on since I was in London, but I felt like crud. Went to Boots and stocked up on tissue and some cold medicine :)

  4. I've had some soup tonight (yes, chicken!), I'm still hungry but feel a bit sick too. Phooey. It's my day off tomorrow, but I can't flake out all day, we're off to see a play (a comedy called Noises Off) which I love, and we've already got tickets!! Hope the audience don't mind me snotting throughout...

  5. *brings a dessert wagon*

  6. SMM, nice thought, but I'd be too worried about chilling getting out of the bath! Plus I ache so much (cue the violins) that I'm not feeling like dragging myself up the stairs right now!

Posted 3 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  7. Rest till you go see your play at least. :)
Oh Miu, we love you!!! i would like some Tiramisu!!!

  8. MCW, just have Chris carry you up them :D

  9. He's out at football CM - and anyway, what about his poor back??!!

I'm going to curl up with my hot water bottle under a blanket for a bit - may or may not be back on later. Ta ra!

  10. Yes, have Chris carry you up and fuss all over you. I have heard of the name Noises Off. I believe it was suppose to be quite good.

{{CM}}, yes lets have some nice decadent desert. Thanks Miu for bring in the dessert cart. A nice slice of chocolate cake with raspberry sauce or maybe a nice big warm slice of apple pie and a dollop of vanilla ice cream on top. Oh heck..a slice of everything please. This reminds me of the scene in the movie Michael (with John Travolta in it) where they are eating pie and have multiple plates on the table and are all tasting them. Yummy!

  11. Whine! I just took a nap and now I feel really rotten. I also took a DayQuil about an hour ago and feel kind of loopy.
I'd like dessert, too - how about pecan and pumpkin pie? Ahhhhh.....

  12. Hello there everyone! How is everyone today? We got a hamster today :), we were going to get an aquatic frog and then realised that we wanted a pet we could at least touch. So we decided at the weekend a hamster would be a good idea. (obviously we actually want a cat but we're not allowed. Prob not allowed hamster either but it's easier to hide :D).

  13. Can't quite wake up, but I'm going to try and run out to Rotelli's for a take-out order of Pasta Fagiole. I hope that'll help me feel better.
I can skip my team practice tomorrow if I still feel rotten and I don't have to go to work until Thursday evening, so I guess I have a little time to feel under the weather.

  14. Congrats on the hamster, Metsa! What's his/her name?

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  15. Congrats Metsa!!!

Hate to read and run but Maddie's friend is coming over so they can play :) So we just finished dinner and awaiting their arrival.

GD, feel better! Rest, eat something.
    SMM, I am with you...all that pie..yummy!!

  16. Her name is Gizmo. More of a boys name maybe but we chose it before the hamster. So far she's been very sweet in checking out her cage and trying to destroy it. Also spoke to my mum for the first time since Sultie died, hard to hear more details about it but I had to know. Sigh.

  17. Have fun with the little ones CM!

Posted 3 years ago by metsa #

  18. Hugs to Metsa. Hope your Mum was able to clarify things about Sultie's passing. Have you found out what they are to do with Sultie's remains? Hope you know that hamsters can smell up a place which can tip off the landlord. Be careful.

  19. They are going to collect his ashes and scatter them around the garden and fields, where he loved to hunt and play. He was found dead on a blanket and cushion from home that my parents put into the cattery with him. We don't know what happened, but since he was dead on his bed (smelling of home) I choose to think he went to sleep and just didnt wake up :'(. It's also the most likely option since his heart wasn't great. Just wish it could have been at home, at least my mum said she felt guilty about it.
We'll be careful, the landlord has to give us written notice of and inspections in a few weeks in advance and we have friends that will gladly take her for a few days so we can air the place. And he only ever comes round when we ask him to fix things anyway. But thanks, we will take care not to get caught and make sure Gizmo is looked after properly too :).

  20. I really must be sick, because the pasta fagiole tastes awful to me. Actually my whole body feels weak and I'm pretty sure I have a fever now, too. Whine!

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  21. Metsa, I'm so sorry about your Sultie! Hugs!

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  22. Hope that everyone feeling under-the-weather gets some good decent rest and feels better soon, anncetera good luck with the in-person interview :)

I have accomplished very little today, eyes still burning from the ammonia spill this morning and trying very hard not to rub them causing more irritation.

Posted 3 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  23. GD, go onto freecycle.com and put down a tv as a want....someone may have bought a brand-new one and has one to give away...can't hurt to try.

Posted 3 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  24. Thanks, AZDeb! I hope your eye feel better soon. I get eye allergies and theurge to rub them is terrible. Have you tried some eyedrops?

MCW, I'm sorry you're snotty, too, but I'm kinda glad I'm not the only sick one ;-)

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  25. Aww, poor GD! Now you know you are really sick when food doesn't taste good. I rarely lose my appetite so I know that is when I really sick.

Posted 3 years ago by SylMiaFelixsMomma #

  26. Oooooh, I'll try that, AZDeb - thanks!

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  27. Yep, Karin, that's always a sure sign to me, too! The worst part is that I can't lay in bed and watch tv!!!!! I'm going to hit the sack with a book in a little while, though.

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  28. Can't figure Freecycle out - whine! (sorry, I get whiny when I'm sick).

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  29. Hope you feel better soon GD!

Posted 3 years ago by Momma to 2 MaineCoons #

  30. Oh, gosh, sounds like everybody is being struck down by the dreaded lurgy. Hope you all feel better soon. Deb, hope your eye soothes down. Metsa, I'm so sorry about Sultie but it does sound as if he just curled up on his familiar cushion, surrounded by familiar smells, and went to sleep. Ann, I have everything crossed for you to get that interview and then ace that job!

Just ducking in and out, have a lovely evening everyone!
