  2. Wow,that's an amazing kitty condo!

Posted 3 years ago by Buttercup #

  3. well I started it sunday around 4pm..I have a 2yr old and a 8 month old so it was a lot of stopping..i would say in total hours it was 12 hours, give or take a little split up over 3 days

Posted 3 years ago by Hizlilbrat #

  4. That is certainly the most complex kitty condo I've ever seen. I can't imagine what it would cost if you tried to buy one like it in the store! Nice work, HLB!

  5. thank you so very much! I added some hanging toys, which they both seem to like and i sprayed it with "cat nip" spray(first time i have used it) and sprinkled a little of Kree's fav. fresh nip all over it...

Pippin LOVES it..climbs all the way to the top, bats the ball around, jumps back and forth and all over....but Kree, well thats another story, he will go in the "A" house, or the bottom house and curl up and sleep...you think he will ever enjoy it? Or is that his way of saying "I;m old, set in my ways and let me be woman"

  6. That is soo cool HLB! hehehe I think so HLB! Old more sedate! LET PIP HAVE HER FUN HE CAN TAKE TH HOUSEY SPOTS!

  7. I suppose so, he is only 3 and a half, but he acts like a grumpy old man! hehe

The way she runs around it, i am thinking about taking of her nail cap *gasp*, i just hope she doesnt go after my furniture if i do! lol

Posted 3 years ago by Hizlilbrat #

  8. Of course they aren't interested in the hammock. Too many other fun things to do besides laying around. This is spectacular. You never know after he gets used to it maybe Kree will start running all over it too. By the way there are many ways to protect your furniture from cats with their claws. I am an antique dealer and had very expensive furniture in my place even when I was fostering. At one time I had 8 cats, not one of them declawed, and not one piece of furniture touched.

Posted 3 years ago by petpntr #

  9. how did you do it PetPntr??? I think its ouchie to declaw them, so i use these things called "soft claws" i order them from a lady online in all kinds of nifty colors..they are like silicone caps that go right over their nails, have been using them on Kree since he was a baby, i put Pippin's first set on her the day we got her and she has yet to try and take them off, heck i have been using them so long on Kree that i dont even have to use the glue type stuff they give you, i just slip them on and call it good with him!

I wanna take them off Pip so she can really dig in to her kitty condo, but my hubby says its a bad idea becuase we just bought brand ew furniture, the base of it all being leather =/

  10. Holy Guacamole, Hizlilbrat, that's a work of art! If I could build like that, I'd be building myself a new kitchen...lol!

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  11. LOL, i need a new kitchen, but my wood work always looks better covered in carpet! LOL

Jcat, your kitty looks JUST like my Kree!!!!!

Posted 3 years ago by Hizlilbrat #

  12. She's called Libby. I love the tabbies! :-)

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  13. I <3 her! such a pretty color..I love how Kree is a silverish blue color. I bet everyone oo's and awww's over her..i think Kree its it more so because of his size then his markings, but they sure help catch the eye when this 30lb cat hops in your lap! LOL

Posted 3 years ago by Hizlilbrat #

  14. Aw, thanks, Hizlilbrat. People do seem to think she's pretty, but mostly they don't get a chance to see her because she's off as soon as she spies a stranger (but little do they know she's probably spying on them from a hidey-place somewhere, she is a little stickybeak, lol).

She is a tiny girl though -- sounds like your Kree is a lovely big boy and a real character!

  15. 0000000000000000000000000000000000000 says max

Posted 3 years ago by Momma to 2 MaineCoons #

  16. Is that oooooo as in ooo and awwwwww, Max? How flattering. I am blushing on Libby's behalf.

Max might need to know, though, that although Libby is tiny, she is feisty and argumentative and if any boy comes near her, apart from comfy old Jasper, she squeals, kicks their butts and runs! She is a warlike little minx...

  17. Wow!!! I love it!

  18. Holy Cow HB!! How awesome is that! I am lucky if I use a screwdriver, let alone build something! Wish I could do that for my kits.

Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

  19. HLB, that is a fantastic cat condo/tree, you do good work and should be proud. Kree will decide which parts are 'his' and which are Pippin's. Love tabbies myself and orangies for sure.

  20. That is one fantastic kitty condo! And to make it yourself is just awesome!

    Posted 3 years ago by 2bpurring #

  22. Well thank you guys! You are to kind hehe...So far Pip thinks ALL of it is her and pounces Kree as soon as he lays down..all in play i am sure!

You guys are awesome! I think this weekend i will build another, just for fun!!LOL

Posted 3 years ago by Hizlilbrat #

  23. OMG, that is too cool!!! :) And something like that would for SURE sell for over $400... maybe even more than $500 in the store!!! I can't believe you made all that for about $50!!!

On a side note... Do you live in a mobile home, by chance?? I live in one too, and can tell by your paneling and ceiling, lol... weird how there's just some things that are the same trailer to trailer, hehe...

    Posted 3 years ago by sloopy1975 #

  24. Yeah, we live in a mobile home...took quite awhile to adjust to it. My husband owns a construction company and we had a parter that was embezzling money from us, we didn't know until it was to late and had to file bankrupcy...we lost pretty much everything except for a savings bond that was in our kids name, 1 car and 2 truck. We used the money from the savings bond to buy this place..it is older, needed some work but we don't have a house payment and that has helped a ton to save money!

We just bought a piece on land...now in 2 yrs when it is paid off we will start to build..pretty much 1 room at a time..until then we make due! After some new floors, insulation, some sheet rock, paint and a new roof it really isn't that bad.

Posted 3 years ago by Hizlilbrat #

  25. Wow, I'm sorry to hear of the circumstances that led you to where you are... glad to know that you are doing well, though. And also a good thing that your hubby is in the construction business, that you are able to do those kind of things yourselves. That too is gonna save you boatloads of money in the long run, especially when building that new house!

I actually don't own my mobile home, I rent... I wasn't planning on moving out of my apartment I was in, but the rent for the 1 bedroom/1 bathroom apartment was actually $10 less than it was on this 3 bedroom/2 bathroom trailer, so it was kind of a no-brainer. (My rent has gone up the $10 since then, lol) True, I pay a bit more for utilities than I did at my apartment (both places only include water/sewer charges in the rent) but that's alright, cuz I make up for it in other ways, like I don't have to go to the laundromat to do laundry anymore! Plus I have TONS more storage... my apartment had 1 closet, that's it!!! And I grew up in a mobile home, so I just like living in one, reminds me of my younger days, lol... :D

    Posted 3 years ago by sloopy1975 #

  26. I like it where i am at..its cozy and quiet. It does seem so much more cost efficent then an apartment! I just knew we HAD to save money, so it was a no brainer for us too!

Him being in construction is nice when we want to build something, but with the economy the way it is right now his work has REALLY slowed down. To the point he had considered selling out land and picked up and moving out of the state! I am so afraid of change so this scares me, BIG time. I have never lived aywhere but Oklahoma and he wants to move to Michigan! i am freezing in out 60 degree weather as it is!! LOL

  27. Wow, amazing condo! Got a kick out of the hammock, at first glance it looked like a giant bottom half of a bikini!

Posted 3 years ago by paulajeanne #

  28. LOL i know doesnt it??? thank you very much, the hammock has come down, it got in their way lol

Posted 3 years ago by Hizlilbrat #

  29. That is awesome! I tried making one, I spent a few weekeds but gave up! Mine would never be that awesome anyways! What did you use for the round parts?? I could never think of anything.
And I'm sorry to hear about your partner taking your stuff, that's just awful! I hope he gets everything he deserves sometime, but I still think your condo is really neat! Charlie would love it, which is probably a good reason for me to start working on it again.
