  1. I am opening the cafe today with a heavy heart. I know you all share that feeling with me. Renee would have wanted us to be ourselves and go about what we do normally, so here I am.
Today is a sad day since Renee has gone, but lets try to remember her spirit, her caring, her giving ways. We all are blessed and better to have known her.

Kitties are here for cuddling. They know we need it.

  2. Hi CM, thanks for opening the cafe. It's important to carry on, but it still feels weird. Think Renee would tell us off if we didn't though!

I'm working from home today, cold finally caught up with me good and proper last night, had virtually no sleep and felt too ghastly to even contemplate the drive to work this morning. Might have struggled in for lunchtime, but they're emailing me some stuff I can do from here instead, so seems like a good solution for all. Lousy timing, only have tomorrow before I'm not there for best part of 2.5 weeks!

  3. Thank you for opening up the cafe, CM. I haven't been able to do much of anything today except feel sad and spend time with my kitties. I took lots of photos of them; it was such a beautiful day here and they were enjoying the sunshine.

  4. {{{Morning, CM & MCW}}} Guess it's just us members of the 39-forever club right now.

Sorry you're feeling lousy, MCW. Best to get it out of your system before you go away, though.

George would like to send nuzzles and soft purrs to everyone who needs them today.

  5. Whoops, hi JCat. Didn't see you there. Glad you were able to spend some time with your kitties in the sunshine.

  6. I'm glad you were able to work from home, MCW, you might well get quite a lot done with no interruptions (but I think you should still pace yourself)! I am sure Egypt will dry up your cold! Better to have the worst of it now than on your holiday!

I am so envious, I have always wanted to see Egypt. Saw the Tutankhamun exhibition in London when I was a kid and have never forgotten it.

  7. Hi, Kilroy, I will take as many of George's nuzzles and soft purrs as he is giving away! Thank you, Georgie.

I wonder if Ann heard back about that job interview. It would be nice to hear some good news amid our sadness.

  8. Is Georgie being a good boy? Maybe he is starting to grow up. I know my RT went through an ankle-biting phase but she outgrew it.

  9. Hi MCW, jcat, and Kilroy!
Kilroy, I will take some of Georgies nuzzles too.
MCW, I am sorry you really feel nasty. At least you were able to work from home today. Rest up for your holiday!!!
jcat, you will have to show us some of those photos of Jasper and Libby, I know I would love to see them :)

  10. Hi NNGM, didn't mean to overlook you :)

  11. Hi Kilroy, Jcat. Funny how cats can sense moods, mine are staying pretty close today. I really thought I'd got away with this cold, OK Tuesday wasn't great, but yesterday I felt much better and enjoyed my day out with Chris. Then last night it all came back tenfold. Just feel so bunged up!!! "By dose id all stuffed upd" But yes, can get quite a bit done from here (that is if you guys don't distract me too much!!) ;o)

Jcat, if you want to be added to my list of TDKers who'd like postcards from Egypt, just let me know! If you're not on the TDK Mailing list, you can send me your email : jennifer (no space) berezai at btinternet dot com

  12. NNGM, when did you sneak in?! Hi to you too!

Posted 3 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  13. Hi, CM, yes, I will have to start that Catster page! I will be able to use a couple of them as new avatars in the meantime. I have yet to get a really good picture of Jasper, he has such beautiful emerald eyes (well, he now only has one, poor lamb) but that is hard to capture in a photo.

  14. Good morning, all. MCW, sorry you are feeling poorly. Hope you feel better before your trip. Hope everyone else is well.

  15. Morning, all! Such a sad, strange morning, today. I am running out the door for a tennis match, but I'll be back later. The boys send greetings to all Aunties and Uncles.
    MCW - feel better!

  16. MCW, did I email you that I wanted a postcard from Egypt? I think I did but can't remember, the baby has sucked all my brain cells away.

Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

  17. Hi Lynn and GD.
Hope you win your match GD. Scritches to the boys.
jcat, I didn't know Jasper only had one eye. ((Jasper)) Probably doesn't slow him down though.

  18. Lyn - thanks!

GD - sounds like your cold is better then!

CM - yes you did, you're on my list!

  19. Hi, NNGM. MCW, I would love a card, if you're sure you'll have the time, we don't want you to spend your whole holiday writing postcards to us, lol. I'll email you my address (you can edit your email addy out now if you like). Thank you so much!

  20. MCW, I would love to have a postcard from Egypt! That is on my short list of places I would like to visit. I saw the King Tut exhibits when they came through Chicago, but it is not the same.

Posted 3 years ago by NNGM #

  21. No problem NNGM! You're on the TDK list yes?

  22. George slips into the cafe and wanders around the room, rubbing against legs and purring. He jumps up into JCat's lap and offers a gentle headbonk, letting JCat scritch his ears. With a last lick on JCat's cheek, he jumps down and trots over to Cricket's Mamma. He stands up on his hind legs and gently places his front paws on her tummy, so he can feel Fishie moving around. CM picks him up into her lap and strokes him.

NNGM - Yes, George is being a much better boy lately. He sits with me on the couch and lets me pet him, and he hasn't seriously chased me or bitten me in a couple of weeks.

  23. {{{Morning, CM & MCW, Jcat, NNGM, GD, Kilroy et al}}} Guess I will have a cuppa hot tea. Supposed to get a haircut and grocery shopping but like y'all, I feel like punk! Have a good day everyone. Love to all my TDK family.

  24. Good luck, GD. Hi, Lynn.

CM, nope, it doesn't seem to slow Jazz down, except that he only seems to eat half his food and then looks at me, like "that wasn't a proper meal!" So then I turn his plate around and say, 'what's that, Scotch mist?' and he comes back to chomp some more.

It amazes me that a former stray cat, who had to fight and scrounge for food his entire life (I presume), now can't manage to find the other half of his dinner on a plate when it's right in front of him!

But he is a lovebug (albeit a one-eyed, toothless, diabetic lovebug) so I'll forgive him...

  25. Awww Georgie..Thank you baby boy. That made me feel better.
Kilroy, you have made great strides with George, it's so wonderful to read how great you two are bonding.
Hi SOM. You have a good day as well. ((Hugs))

  26. Mornin' all. Does feel a little strange doesn't it? I am in the midst of all the happy plans for my wedding and I know Renee wouldn't want me to be sad, but I do feel a bit dumpy. As so many others have expressed on the other threads, I just want to take a minute to say I care deeply for my TDK family. You all have carried me through some pretty rough times. For that, I thank you and love you.

  27. Aw, Georgie. Thank you, baby. *Feels much better and almost ready to try and get some sleep... Scritches Georgie gratefully again, as he purrs in CM's lap, on my way out*

I know we will all still be thinking of Renee today/tomorrow but I am going to try to do it with a smile from now on!

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  28. Not to mention the fact that you all crack me up sometimes!!!

  29. {{{SHELLEY}}}.

  30. Hi GD! Bye GD! Good luck with your tennis.

Morning, Lynn and SOM. Sorry you're not feeling good, SOM.
