  2. Teresa, it was Christine and yes her husband was Ben and she had 1-2 kids before the newest baby. Wonder how she is doing, sigh.

It's good to see everyone talking this morning, I will probably be lurking mostly today....@ work and well you know how that goes during dayshift especially.

  3. Good Day All....Just popping in to say hi

  4. Hello, all--this is indeed a sad morning, and since I don't post very often, it's sort of hard to put into words I guess. I am so sorry to hear of Renee's passing--she always seemed so up-beat to me, and willing to send hugs and purrs to anyone in need of them. But I have found that pretty much all the TDKer's are so supportive to all who wish to post here--whether new or not--and for that I'd like to say Thank You. Too often we don't say Thanks as often as we should. I must admit, I've felt a little silly this morning sitting here reading the different postings and openly crying for the loss of someone I don't really know. But for those of you who have known Renee for much longer, my heartfelt sympathies to you. This is a very special group of people here who are willing to share their knowledge and feelings and concerns for others, whether they be two -legged or four -legged.

  5. Good morning all. Trying to think positive this morning that the news will be good. I too am a little sad today with the loss of Renee. We mourn a little and take joy in going back and reading her postings. I did that last night.

Shelley, enjoy your wedding to your fullest. I think Renee would encourage you to enjoy it as much as possible.

SOM, I love your avatar of your kitties. They are so cute!

AZDeb, thank you for the link to the overgrowth of kittehs! It brought a smile to my face this morning. I saved it to my picture folder on my computer.

I am having Mickey D's this am. I couldn't sleep much and up at my usual 3am. I manage to only hit the snooze button twice before dragging myself out of bed this morning.

We are suppose to get rain starting later today and could last through to Sunday. So it will be a nice cool and rainy weekend. My kitties are so snuggly now and I am loving it. Also, Mia seems to have discovered that when I put a hanger on the bed it becomes a snake to her. She bats at it and jumps a little. She has me giggling at her. She comes and gives me headbonks while I sit on the bed with her doing this. She seems to be having a good time as she purrs while doing it. I have a video on my phone and am trying to figure how to get it to my computer. The file is too big to send as a message according to this stupid phone of mine. I think I might try taking out the sim card and using an adapter (I have one for my PSP) to download to the computer. I will figure it out this weekend or might be able to get a video with my camera.

  6. Wow, I just had to read thru other posts.. I'm not sure if I knew Renee, but I am saddened with everyone's grief. I know the feeling of anything else being trivial, as there was recently a loss in my boyfriends family.

I hope everyone is doing well. Chuck will gladly sit with whoever needs extra comfort.

  7. Hi Morrissmom, SMM and JB.
SMM, I would love to see Mia attacking the hanger snake! sounds too cute. ((MIA))
Thanks for the offer of Chuck, JB. :)
MM, I only knew Renee a short time and I was crying like a baby last night and this morning. It's sad when a life is lost, especially when it was a good, decent person.

  8. I hate the grocery store :-( Since when does a small jar of ground cloves cost $8??????

Posted 3 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  9. I haven't seen Soxs Mom on for a couple days...I don't know if she knows about Renee. I was also wondering if someone who has Dee and Jo and CatRancher's emails to let them know...I know they left, but I'm sure they would like to know...I did see Raining Wolf post so that's good that she knows...anyone else?
    Instinct maybe? Tigerlilly?

Posted 3 years ago by linda #

  10. Hi WWM...is it cheaper to buy whole ones and grind them up with a little coffee grinder instead?

Posted 3 years ago by linda #

  11. Instinct lurks sometimes, Linda. I know that SoxsMom has been kind of sick but it is odd that she hasn't checked in at night.

Mr. WWM demonstrated to me how he can use a mortar and pestle to grind the whole cloves that I already have. So next time I need them guess who is going to get that job? :-)

Posted 3 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  12. hee...Clove Man! It always looks like fun to use a mortle and pestle, but I've never have.

Posted 3 years ago by linda #

  13. Hi WWM and Linda!!
I love the grocery store but hate the prices!
SM hasn't been on in a few nights, I know she has school stuff and with her and her daughter being sick, that could hinder her. I hope she is alright.
    How are you feeling WWM?

  14. Hi cm! I saw the cutest little Boots beanie baby that I thought Maddie would like, but it says for 3 years and up :(

Posted 3 years ago by linda #

  15. Oh, I'm much better, CM - thanks! I still have this nagging cough that I'm pretty sure is driving people at the gym nuts.

I was a little bit in sticker shock at the store. Vegetables have just skyrocketed here but I'm not sure why. I never thought that I would pay $3 for one acorn squash! But I found a recipe that I really want to try. I justified it by telling myself that it would cost much more in a restaurant.

Posted 3 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  16. Linda, she already has it :) She has a lot of beanie babies and I was concerned about the 3 and up but she's had them for 6 months already or more and usually just sleeps with them or takes them in the car.

  17. Have either of you ever tried Spaghetti Squash? It makes strands just like spaghetti, except shorter and cruchier...VERY tasty and good for you too! I have a recipe that has loads of cheddar incorporated in it and parmesan on top...yummmmm

Posted 3 years ago by linda #

  18. Oh, gosh - I read Linda's note and thought that they were Beanie Baby shoes!!! I must have shoes on the brain because I saw the most adorable pair of teeny-tiny moccasins in a catalog this morning. Can you think of anything more impractical than little beaded baby moccasins? But they sure were cute.

Posted 3 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  19. I have, Linda! I really like spaghetti squash. I'd like to have the recipe. Usually I just put butter and spices on it but cheese - whoa! Maybe that's a recipe that you need to put on the "I like cheese" thread. It hasn't reappeared for a while now.

Posted 3 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  20. WWM there are so many adorable things for baby but like you said when you stop and think about it, they are so impractical.

Linda, I have never eaten or made squash. I have no idea how to make it. Would we eat it..I don't know, but it could be a good side dish...

Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

  21. Sorry, WWM! Boots is the little monkey who is Dora the Explorer's side kick :)
(how do I know that if I don't have any kids? shhh...I actually have watched it! and Go Diego Go!)

  22. Hi all! I went and played my match and pretty much thought about Renee the whole time. It was a tough match, but we won in three sets.
I have to be at work at the gym at 4:30 and after two days off, I really don't want to go! Luckily it's only 4 1/2 hrs.
Is Georgie still available for cuddling?

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  23. I sent a very sad e-mail to Cheri today too. I know she would want to know about our Renee. Many hours have past since I heard the news this morning but it all still seems so surreal.

Posted 3 years ago by debsterwiz #

  24. Hi All...Linda..I did indeed send Dee a note to tell her and I should have thought of Jo and Catrancher. There are so many who have been m.i.a. lately maybe I should go back and send some more notifications. I'm sure feeling numb *not enough* today. Hugs to you all. I see that Great Dane pulled up Rainingwolf's last topic asking for prayers. I'm glad and left her another message to keep us close.

  25. I'll bring the recipe in tomorrow...there's also one with bacon!

cm, I eat mine (in this particular reicpe) as a main dish, with bread as a side and maybe a small salad...it's quite hearty.

Posted 3 years ago by linda #

  26. My acorn squash recipe is for a roasted squash with a chili oil brushed on after the squash roasts.

CM, a really good way to do zucchini squash is to halve it lengthwise and grill it. I usually make a basting oil with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and then whatever spices I feel like throwing in - rosemary is really good.

Posted 3 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  27. Thanks Karen and debster...yeah, still numb too :(

Posted 3 years ago by linda #

  28. Hi GD, I am glad you won your match. Sorry you have to work. ick. I know Georgie is available(sends Georgie through the cathole to GD)
Hi Deb, thanks for letting Cheri know.

Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

  29. Well, I think that I will go put my hands to use for a bit and do some sewing. I'm working on a little Christmas wallhanging quilt, or a table topper, for my sister-in-law.

Posted 3 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  30. hi GD! Congrats on the match. How are the boys?

cm, I had wondered about boyznme too!
