Asking for prayers

(31 posts)
  1. I have a friend, a woman who has been married for 22 years and has two wonderful daughters. Her husband met a younger woman at Facebook three weeks ago. He immediately forgot his vows and his family which he had earlier deeply loved. Now he wants a divorce and a new marriage with a woman he has actually met once.
My friend has been fighting for her family but she is facing a stone wall and is getting depressed.

Please pray for her and her family.

  5. Oh Mui - how awful for your friend! Tell her to hang in there! Surely this is just a midlife crisis thing for her husband, and he will soon regret what he is doing. Sending prayers, positive energy and hugs! {{{Miu's friend}}}

  6. How foolish of him to throw away 22 years! I pray for her to have the strength to forgive and forget if he wakes from his nightmare and to overcome if he doesn't.

  7. Mui, Can't he just have a fling, not tell his wife & family, get over the new one and stay home? What an idiot. I wish the best for your friend and her family.
    Peace,

  10. Oh Miu but for the grace of God.....

This could be my story. When it happened to me I found a lawyer and had him served. He looked at me and said what are you doing? You won't even fight for our marriage. I said I love you but I will not have you running off and trying to make your way through whatever your midlife crisis wants you to do. He asked me to go to counciling. We went. I have a good marriage--there are days I want to hit him upside the head with the cast iron skillet,a gift from his mom, but in all....

My prayers are with her as she finds her strength. I pray that he comes to his senses now. My prayers though center on her and her daughters, may they find comfort and strength. Peace to them all.

  11. Prayers for the woman and the daughters. This is a hard situation to deal with and I hope she has the strength to do what's right for her and the daughters.

  12. oh, sox's mom! the cast iron skillet? i actually did use ours - i was only 9 and hit my oldest brother upside the head because he wouldn't quit pickin on me! i got spanked but good and he was laughing so hard - not because i got spanked but because i hit him - he didn't expect me to do that, but gosh - pickin on me while i was doing dishes wasn't smart on his part! he has always had a hard head so no damage was done!

  18. ;-) Well, we knew she could be feisty by the way she talked of getting rid of those scary creatures she kept finding round the house! So it worked on husbands too, lol?

  19. Prayers for your friend and her family. I hope he knows that "if she will do it with him, she will do it to him" as Dr. Phil would say. Ron, it is nice to see you here. Blessings to you and your family.

  20. Reminds me of an old Chinese saying, "A man who chooses a woman for her face [or Facebook] is like a man who buys a house for the paint job." The outside may look great but what about the heart of the building? The husband may not find more than a cheatin' heart therein. Good thoughts for strength to your friend and her daughters.

  23. Oh Miu..Except for a few details..this was my story after a 20 yr. marriage some years ago. Your friend is lucky to have you and promise me she will need all the prayers and support she can get. This is such a direct attack on a woman's self-esteem that many find it difficult to recover from the devastating affects. Sending deep heartfelt Prayers and Positive Energy to your friend Miu. God knows she will need them.

  27. My husband always says... a guy that will cheat on the golf course, will cheat in life - you can tell a person's true by the way they play the game...

God's grace, strength and comfort you your friend and her daughter.

  29. miu, its so sad that it happens, it happened to me (one of the reasons its just me and the cats, previously just me and the kids since '94) it does hit the self-esteem for sure.

Ron, its nice that you have joined us and shared the cue stick story....makes me smile knowing the Cindy had the 'pluck' we all thought she had, knew it by catching the bugs/critters in the house and telling us the tales of them.
