  1. Now I have to be careful that I am prepared when I ask about daughters day--I think she tells me things to see if I will be shocked.

  2. I had my smash-o-gram in May. Good for another year! :D

Posted 3 years ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  3. Had mine for the year too. They found a lump and I got the results of the biopsy the day we left for Ruidoso in July--negative. Can't help but think she was in on that one.

  4. MS I want you to know daughter is eating honey! She has some every morning. The funny part is that she has stomach reflux and she said the past few days it hasn't bothered her a bit. I have to wonder what other things this honey can do... Anyway it sure isn't hurting her!

  5. That's wonderful, SM!

  6. Yay for honey!

I eat my peas with honey
I've done it all my life
It makes the peas taste funny
But it keeps them on the knife...

  7. Oh, no - I have missed CM and I really wanted to reinforce what Tigerlilly said. CM, I worked with delayed kids for two years. One, you do need to make certain that Maddie's hearing is okay. After all, she has had lots of ear infections and sometimes pediatricians don't remember to check hearing. But secondly, read read read to her and then have her join in. Practice is a great medicine. And, kids do develop differently. However, the fact that you and Ron understand Maddie's talk may keep her speaking to you in the language that she has developed. Encourage her to interact with maybe more correct language by constantly interacting with her on a verbal level.

*sigh* Once an Early Interventionist, I'm afraid always an EI. But I'm afraid that you won't see this. If not, be prepared for me to copy and paste tomorrow!

    Hugs to all!

PS - Mr. WWM got the steaks just right! It was the first time since I've been sick that I really felt like eating.

  8. Kudos to Mr. WWM!! Were the steaks still mooing?? :D

  9. SM, (sorry, nurse here) - like Karo syrup, do have a small caution with honey. If left too long on the shelf it can harbor bacteria. But if it's eaten relatively quickly (like a month) it's not a problem. You know how lots of us have a bottle of Karo syrup in the pantry that's been there for four years and is only used for pecan pie at Christmas? Not good.

  10. That is a brilliant way to eat peas, Jcat! lol

Posted 3 years ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  11. Not quite mooing but not far from it, either!

  12. Glad your appetite is back, WWM!

I'm going to go find something for dinner here. I don't think I want pot roast for the third night in a row, but there is still a lot of it left... ;)

  13. "Freezer, freezer, freezer......"

  14. Honey is a wonderful food...as long as you are over the age of 1! Botulism is still most prevalent in children and avoiding honey in the first 12 months of life is key. Sorry for the lecture, but this info often does not get out there.
Hi WWM, yes, please copy that info for CM. Hearing issues are the first and foremost thing not to miss.

  15. KW, someone lied to me I thought I got a prize for the cleanest house. Not that that will ever happen. LOL I'm more complaining about not doing anything because I have felt lousy all weekend and I hate that on my days off.

  16. {{{{{{{{{{Tigerlilly!!!}}}}}}}}} I am SO glad to see you back!!!

Well, you know... when you've worked with kids a lot.... hard to leave off the lecturing!

  17. This time change always throws me for a loop. But it's been pitch dark here for two hours now so of course I think it's time for bed. Which it isn't. But I think that we will go and watch a bit of TV. And maybe I can talk Mr. WWM into a small bowl of ice cream later.

    Night, Everyone!

  18. Thanks WWM, as I said before, I was sick and two of my kitties were hospitalized quite ill, so it was kind of crazy on this end. It's a quiet night here , so I can log in a bit on the night shift. Usually with the two boys, homework etc etc, I can't really participate, although I would love to be able to do it more. My oldest is in the high school play Midsummer Nights Dream starting on the 13th, so it will be very busy in the coming days with extended practice.

  19. Tigerlilly..if you don't mind me asking what was wrong with your kitties?

  20. Jcat! I learnt that rhyme at school in Std 4. Had a great teacher who taught us all sorts of funny rhymes that I still remember. He was the one that got me started on lighthouses with the Flannen Isle poem.

  21. I'm going to call it a night. Have a good Monday everyone.

  22. ILMC, Meow Meow and Cute Linda both had a terrible virus with bad URI symptoms and mouth ulcers. They were vomiting also and got terribly dehydrated. For a while there, they thought Meow Meow had intestinal lymphoma also. It was a very scary time. Thank God they are both doing much better and as best we can tell there is nothing more long term serious going on.

  23. Evening everyone, going to bed early this evening, not feeling up to snuff so going to try and beat it before it beats me. Hope that everyone has a pleasant evening, sleep a restful sleep and wake refreshed in the morning.

  24. AZDebra did you see my reply. Yes I would very much appreciate that address. I had thought GD would be back by now--dogs are probably running her ragged!

Posted 3 years ago by SoxsMom #

  25. Are you still having a time with headaches?

Posted 3 years ago by SoxsMom #

  26. Oh, Tigerlillie, that sounds scary. Thank goodness your boys are feeling better. Am I allowed to ask why Cute Linda is a boy or have I got that wrong?

Good rhyme, eh, KK? What's the Flannen Isle poem? Have you walked up the steps to Cape Palliser lighthouse over this side, just past Ngawi?

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  27. Oh, Deb, I was hoping that headache had been nuked by now. Sleep well and hope you wake feeling like a million dollars!

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  28. SM, sent the address...

jcat, I wish it would go away, it keeps lessening but always at bay it seems...tonight it is like a knife cutting away with sharp pains, sigh.

Posted 3 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  29. SoxsMom, yeah still having the headache, sometimes they last for months, sometimes only a couple of days...guess its life.

Posted 3 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  30. Deb, isn't that doctor of yours doing anything? I am worried about you.
